Can you publish a version that doesn't touch the haunted one background at all? I only ask cause I'd like to try out Dark Urge - Rebirth by DaniAlbrtSancEs and I believe their mod only touches the backgrounds.lsx for the origin Haunted One. Or should I just load that mod after this one? Idk if that would cause any issues. Excellent mod though, adds some much needed weight to all the backgrounds and the performance one is a nice qol to have a free bard in the party. Thanks either way!
Hello, first of all I’d like to say that this mod is amazing! I’ve been using it in pretty much all of my playthroughs and I can’t imagine playing without it anymore!
One thing I noticed is that on the inspiration screen, the background text looks a bit off, like in this example here.
Any chance that, instead of the carry weight thing on guild artisan, Experimental Alchemy from the Transmutation Wizard could be used instead? Kinda feels more like what a crafter would do - craft better.
Except you left him skilled in history, of all things.
Your skill in a particular craft has earned you membership in a mercantile guild, offering privileges and protection while engaging in your art. Repairing and discovering rare crafts will bring new inspiration.
If we assume that his craft is alchemy then shouldn't his skill be the one related to it? And that happens to be medicine.
This is a great mod! Suggestions that might make a little more sense (in my opinion)
Folk Hero and Noble should switch their skills. Noble should be persuasion and folk hero perception. I just think that makes more sense for those backgrounds. I also think for Guild Artisan should be investigation instead of history since an artisan is taking apart and putting things together kind of like an engineer would which seems more in the realm of investigation since they are scrutinizing and putting attention to details. Just some suggestions :) I will be playing and enjoying your mod regardless. Have a great day.
FYI the localization tooltip links apparently don't work in the actual Inspiration page in-game. They do work fine in the character creation screen. Been using this mod for a few months now but somehow just never noticed this on the Inspiration in-game screen lol. Seems like that screen just may not be built to use the tooltip links, as the vanilla background descriptions are just the flavour text without any gameplay effects.
Hi, I think this is a very interesting mod. It makes the character background more functional and makes me feel its presence more in the game.
But I looked through the other backgrounds and thought some of them were a bit strange in terms of role-playing.
For example, why is Folk Hero proficient in Persuasion, while Noble is proficient in Perception? It seems to be completely reversed XD. I think Folk Hero often fights and should be more proficient in the perception of the surrounding environment (like Spiderman). Noble should often go to social places and deal with various people, so they should be better at Persuasion.
I wonder if you have any plans to adjust them to make them more immersive?
so I really like this mod, it adds alot to choosing a background. but I notice that the Sage background literally doesn't have a unique ability unless you are a Wizard, because all it does is half the price to learn spells from scrolls. I'm not really sure what you could replace it with. The 2024 PHB has it give Magic Initiate (Wizard) for free, maybe you could take some inspiration from that?
Some ideas, High Spellcasting- Found on some magic items, gives +1 Spell Save DC Alternatively, +1 to Saving Throws, also found on some magic items Alternatively to the alternative, +1 to mental saving throws only Alternative to the alternative to the alternative, +1 to saving throws against spells Access to Mage Hand
Is there any chance you could make it possible to play as haunted one with any character? There is a mod that does this already but it is incompatible with this mod. Looks like a fun mod and I can't wait to try it out!

Always open to ideas, though Magic Initiate would be too complicated to do via a background.
