About this mod

This gives companions unique assets similar in vein to Unique Tav, except due to some companions sharing assets with NPCs/Tav it also gives them unique assets for those situations. Such as giving Halsin unique eye, hair and skin colour presets so can be edited without effecting NPCs

What is this mod?

This aims to be similar in vein to Unique Tav but instead for the Companions. On it's own it changes nothing on the characters themselves. This has to be done by modders.

Originally this mod was going to be on the same page as Unique Companion Equipment however after talking to some modders we decided it would be better as a separate page. Due to:

  • different functions of each mod one being equipment based and the other materials/textures for the face and body
  • mods wanting to use UCE won't necessarily want to use UCA and vice versa.
  • alleviate any confusion for users when the mod would be linked as a requirement.

Future Plans
  • after supporting all the companions in this mod I plan to make a Eyes of the Beholder patch which I got permission to do. This is the only patch I plan to do on my side, since it requires to edit all entries I edit with this mod.

Due to being a framework it is not on this mod to patch for other mods and due to this being made a few months into release not all mods might update for it. That is okay and please don't pressure anyone to use this as a base.

I updated my Halsin's Salon mod page to support this mod. Including options I made for testing this mod such as unique hair and eye colour and a beard.

Compatibility

Sadly due to having to edit the CharacterVisual entries for each companion this mod is not compatible with other mods that edit these files. At most they usually only include one, however some might include all entries.

So best to load this mod at the top of the list anyway since it is a framework and is otherwise made to be overridden.

This will mostly effect characters who I have to give unique Eye, Hair and Skin colour options to. Such as Halsin, Minthara, Jaheira and Minsc. For the others it will only override the unique entries for things such as private parts, beards and any others I add for more modular modding.

Who and what is currently covered?

Since this mod as a base does not aim to change how the characters look by default, it only provides the files and possibility to alter these files by other mods.

*Unique __ Merged Entry

  • This also means that other mods have to change this entry to change the default they are given in the vanilla game.

Why have I given his transformed look separate entries to his non transformed look? To give modders more ways to customise his transformed look. Like you might want to give him no beard on his non transformed look, but one on his transformed look. Same for his hair you might want that to be different.

In the game files referenced as Devil Wyll so in the files for this mod in order to be consistent the files in UCA are named with it as well.

So right now adding piercings was only possible on transformed Wyll, adding it to the others they only showed up before you recruit them and disappear once recruited.

It was also for some reason causing their skin, hair and eye colours to reset to the very base default values which was not something I think we wanted. So once I have added all the other characters I will look back into adding it for the others.
