Hey there, i'd love to use your mod without adding another pak in mod manager, is that possible? Like would it be as simple as throwing the armor.txt from your pak into the correct location? And if yes, what location would that be?

I've never heard of adding a txt file to the game files to mod a game. The only way I could possibly see you modding the game without the mod manager is if you unpacked Gustav from the game files, added the line <data "Proficiency Group" ""> to all the same armor stats, repacked Gustav, and then replaced the existing Gustav pak with your modified one, but that's obviously way more work than just adding the pak you already downloaded here to your mod manager. Also messing with the game files manually always risks messing up your game, so do so at your own risk.

I was just thinking, since for example a mod like Basket of Equipment allows you to tweak an armor.txt in Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Public\BasketEquipmentSFW\Stats\Generated\Data, there might be a similar location for the vanilla game that your mod just references, but i guess i was wrong and that's not how any of this works :D Thanks, i'll just add your mod in the intended way then instead, and thanks for sharing it! Exactly what i need since i just found the boots of striding that won't let my caster cast cause they heavy. Or medium? Either way, can't cast.

Is this compatible with Vanilla Equipment Overhaul?

I don't think so. This modifies the base game's armor stats found in Gustav. I copied all 29 armor stats by searching for each piece that fit the criteria using the wiki and just added the following line to each of them.

      data "Proficiency Group" ""

If you want to modify the armor provided by another mod, your best bet is to just unpack the mod and add that line to any armor you want to remove armor tags from and then repack the mod. You can try loading this mod first and hope it carries over without conflicts, but I doubt it will. I'm new to modding though so I can't say for sure.
