Before you post a question or create a bug ticket, please read the sticky comments here, and the Features and FAQ on the Description page. 99,99% of mod issues can be fixed that way.
If the mod stops working after it DID work, re-install the mod loader! (When the game files are updated or verified, this file might get overwritten!) Pay close attention to the install steps and read the FAQ for common issues. If it still does not work, check the comment section whether a game update broke the mod. (Sometimes they do. Then I need to fix it.)
If you have an ingame issue, see if the issue persists, when you uninstall the WASD mod. If it persists, it is not a bug of the WASD mod.
Please remember that you can disable auto-updates on both GOG and Steam to avoid mod compatibility issues, when the game updates. How-to in the FAQ section on the Description page.
Game Hotfix 25 was released. WASD 1.9.4 is fully compatible.
If you also use the ScriptExtender and your game does not start, kill the bg3 process in the task manager and EITHER -Use this experimental new ScriptExtender version: https://github.com/Norbyte/bg3se/files/15169633/BG3SE-Updater-v5ldrp.zip OR -Move the ScriptExtender (DWrite.dll) from the bin folder to the NativeMods folder. (Then, BG3ModManager will not be able to find it anymore and warn you, but you can just ignore this message.) OR -Use ScriptExtender version March 28th. This old version does not have this startup issue with the native mod loader.
If your game starts, but the mod does not load/work, re-install the native mod loader. (Game updates often remove the native mod loader.)
If you have issues with Camera Rotation and Alt, then bind "Ping" to any key, except Alt ofc. I will fix this in the next update.
heyo! i downloaded this and so far, my game/mods seems to be working again; i tried making a new character, teleported all over the place, went into an area with heavy traffic, spoke to some vendors, used the magic mirror, etc, and everything seems to be working fine so far. thank you for the help!
This one works really great for me! I had been using the version from March 28 previously but I had started experiencing this weird glitch where the game would start with no sound at all. This script extender seems to fix it though! My game has started without sound since I started using it, but just redownloading the file to my bin folder fixes it again. :)
I have tried what seems like everything but nothing is working. I haven't played in a few months, so I checked on all my mods and updated things, only to log in and find the only thing that wasn't working is my WASD mod. I've looked through comments, I've downloaded three different DWrite files (and moved said files between bin and native mods folder itself), including the new one in this comment section. I've redownloaded native mods loader, script extender, I've cleared all the files needed for this mod and redownloaded them. I saw a comment about the log file found after you run the game, and I open it, but it acts as if there's nothing wrong. I've even changed keybinds in game, and I made sure it wasn't because of CAPSLOCK. I've opened multiple save files of different characters, and it doesn't work on any. Please help! I love this mod and it's one of my favorites. :(
Error occurred at code -> [main.cpp:55] Callsite -> int cdecl DllMain(struct HINSTANCE *,unsigned long, void *) Detail ->SDL2.dll version mismatch. This usually means that you mustre-install the mod, or at least the SDL2.dll! Process cannot continue and will now exit.
Hey I'm getting this same error too but when I do put the sdl2.dll in the correct location, I would try to launch the game and it never opens up and acts like it's running in the background but it's not. Hopefully that made sense.
I cannot seems to make this mod work,i tried everything, different SE versions, placing the DWrite inside Nativefolders, the only thing i can notice,is that i have the SE placed in two path. The first one in Steam's path and the other one is where the Norbyte SE folder has been installed with vortex. The only thing i can notice,is that the BG3WASD log file, after been created fews day ago, never got updated after different play's sessions.. thx
Thanks so much for this wonderful MOD. I love the EnableRotatePlusLeftclickMovesForward feature you added. I can now control the game with just the mouse like Knights of the Old Republic.
I am curious though, is there anyway to implement this in combat mode where holding both mouse buttons will move the camera around? The only way to avoid having to use the keyboard during combat is to set one of my forward/back buttons to move forward.
Another way is setting the left mouse button to move forward in the games settings but unfortunately when accessing the inventory(Character Panel) to move items around, the character moves forward in the background at the same time. When using the Party Panel this doesn't happen. The character and companions freeze in the background and I am able to shift things around in the group inventory as well as the hotbar.
You seem to have a lot of knowledge when it comes to these sort of the things. Any idea as to what settings there are in the PartyPanel.xaml that freezes the game in the background and if it could be applied to the CharacterPanel.xaml as well? Or am I looking at the wrong files here and this sort of tweaking is not possible without the proper modding tools?
Is the game really paused or is just the movement input disabled? I didn't test that. I am not familiar with these xml files, but I assume that (if this panel really pauses the game) this is controlled in the games source code and not the xml file. I assume that, with the official modding tools, content and lua mods will be easier to do, but mods like WASD that inject code will not benefit from them.
Thanks for the quick response. My mistake, the game isn't paused through the party panel, you just can't move your character. All input is disabled in every menu except for the character panel. The ideal solution is having your mods feature 'EnableRotatePlusLeftclickMovesForward' work in combat.
In case that isn't possible, I was curious if you had any idea how the input was disabled in all menus except the main inventory. I'm probably wasting my time trying to figure it out through these xaml files.
I have installed the mod following the directions to a T. It won't work. I even re-installed the Native Mod Loader after; still nothing. The troubleshooting steps say make sure there is a BG3WASD.log file in the bin folder and make sure the timestamp is correct in it. That file doesn't exist....and looking at your download file tree, it doesn't exist there, either. Am I missing something?
I installed the mod and the mod loader correctly. I have confirmed everything is correct a million times. When I open the game loader, there is no warning to ignore. And when the game boots, the mods don't work.
If the Larian launcher does not even throw the warning that the game files are modified, then the mod files are definitely not in the correct location. Maybe you copied them to the literal path given in the instructions, but your game is installed somewhere else.
After several tests, following description's page mod instructions and tips/suggestions in this posts section, the only way for me to get it to work, the WASD movement ,is by setting the game input type to controller/joypad in the game settings menu...tried singleplayer and multiplayer, same results.. Has anyone else, experienced this problem? Thx
The "mouse look" is not a complete mouse look, like a toggle or like Dragon Age, yet. Mouse look just means that the "Rotate Camera" feature of the game is improved a bit. Default hotkey is middle mouse button.
oh toggle or hold? the game is making me hold it to operate mouse look. cannot remember if it toggled before. i thought it did.... i never changed the keybinds

It would be cool if you could try this experimental SE version that should fix the current SE+NML loading issues and give feedback.
