This mod adds npc, companion and origin heads as Unique assets to Character Creation for Tav. Including my own interpretation of them to other races. This also acts as a framework for my NPCs as Tav/Guardian mod.

This mod adds NPC heads as Unique assets to Character Creation for Tav. Including my own interpretation of them to other races.
Why are the mods split into two paks? In order to support mod.io/consoles as well I needed them to be split into two due to their file size.
Why is this separate to the NPC (And Origins) Eye Skin and Hair Colours for Tav and NPC Hairs for Tav mods? If we could add folders in image section for per file I would be happy to put some of my mods on same page. As right now adding this, NPC as Tav/Dreamer onto one page with hairs and CC Colours would result in a ton of images which would be hard to navigate for users.
Especially since I plan to gradually add the heads in this mod to other races, which would then result in more images.
I tested every head in this mod with the tadpole pool, US and first conversation with Lae'zel, to test them as thoroughly as I could.

How do I install this mod?
Place the .pak in your mods folder:
Mac: User/Documents/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate 3/Mods
Windows: %LocalAppdata%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
Linux: SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/1086940/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate 3/Mods
Please use either BG3 Mod Manager or the new in game mod manager to enable your mods. You can also use vortex, but due to one I personally don't use, I can't help troubleshoot any issues you may run into.

What is the difference between this and other mods doing the same?

This is my interpretation. The original base versions will probably be the same (though added as unique assets so won't be changed by mods altering NPCs), that is unavoidable. Except for ones where I fix neck seams to work with the base Tav bodies, such as Astarion and Karlach.
To further expand on the above, this mod adds the original heads and their corresponding skeletons to the mod as new assets in order to make them unique. This means even if you have a mod that edits the NPC it will not effect the assets in this mod.
This then also allows people to make retextures of their Tavs with these heads without altering the original NPC.
If you would prefer both being edited at same time then I do suggest you use Customizer Compendium or a similar mod instead.
I have also fixed skeletons where needed for players to use piercings if they wish. Such as on some of the BT4 heads.
How they are changed for each race will likely be different, in some cases very different. We all have different ideas on what their ears might look like as an Elf, how their nose might look as a Gith and how big their brow might be as a Tiefling for instance to name a few.
This also acts as a framework for my NPCs as Tav/Guardian mod in combination with NPC Eye Skin and Hair Colours for Tav and NPC Hairs for Tav.

I do prefer having the compatibility being natively in my mod, so they only show up for the user if they use your Race mod.
However you can make your own patch if you wish , as long as you follow the below permissions:
- Only the CharacterCreationAppearanceVisuals entries for your race are included with unique UUIDs in the UUID lines
- No other files from the mod is included (if you need to make a new material reference the texture UUIDs, please don't include the textures themselves)
- Only use heads that fit the body of your race. For example no Tiefling heads on human/elf/drow/halfelf/halfdrow bodies. Because this will result in gaps in the mesh + texture seams.
