You know, at some point I'll actually finish the game instead of making a new game every few days, lol, but you dang modders just keep adding cool stuff. I have issues with paranoia, so I think that I'm almost obligated to play this feat at least once. Especially since this seems to be a fairly true to life (at least as close as you can get for an rpg) representation of the issue I face, both the good and the bad.
Hi, first of all, nice Mod, I downloaded it to use in my next campaign and I just haven't used it yet so as not to interfere with my current character's personality. Now about my opinion and interest, mainly due to the fact that I suffer from paranoia and identify with these characteristics, would you be interested in discussing further changes to create a more immersive version based on the accounts of someone who has gone through transitions of this aspect or do you prefer to keep your Mod based on your original idea making only minor changes and creating variants for different requests? Your Mod made me see the game in a different way, although I am currently acting as a player and translator, it is the first time that I feel the desire to learn how to create new Feats based on psychological characteristics frequent in society after the pandemic.
I'm open to suggestions and willing to try, all though I'm very new at this and still asking others for help with some things. I don't know 100% if some concepts can be implemented because of the game adaptation. If the request diverts from the mod to much it may just need its own mod page. Currently working on another feat called "Petty" which I'm somewhat stumped on and awaiting direction. I'm trying to introduce new homebrew Feats and create a variant of them that has a negative side effect for fun and introduces a different aspect to the game. Just a few from a list iv created: Swole, Sickly, Unwise, Phobia, Clumsy. Its a long list and I'm not sure how long each will take to create.
Cool and scary, because I also have some of these characteristics. Add me on Discord -> beduck03brplayer_19571 <- , if you want to chat about such projects, I may not know about Mods, but my mind is a machine of possibilities and I can help with my point of view.
I have another idea: An authism feat. Not that I'm authistic, although sometimes I think I am... Anyway, it could also give disadvantage on charisma check, maybe on insight as well, but bonuses for investigation, history, maybe arcana - because authists have great a memory. Maybe add a once per rest bonus to persuasion since authists can often imitate regular folks, it's just very exhausting for them.
@BeDuck I found another paranoid feat, not sure if it's accurate to the irl condition, but I thought I'd show you. Just search paranoid.
I tried another mod once that gave me a second reaction. It was good for a Sentinel build. Didn't find it too OP. But I don't know exactly if the other paranoid mod adds only one more or infinite more, seemed a little ambiguous.
I just picked the feat for the first time. The 2nd version with the charisma disadvantage. And I noticed that the description is incomplete. Curious to see how it goes though
So I only got Doubt's Keen Eye and Web of Suspicion. The other ones are missing. I downloaded the version called "Paranoid 5e Feat with CHA Disadvantage"
I also didn't get the advantage on perception just now, and also didn't get the initiative boost. Seems like the feat is bugged, sadly.
Thanks for catching that! I just missed ; in the code so it will fix the Checks and the Initiative. Will upload shortly. Edit: Realized it was for the other mods as well so they will be fixed also
Good job on making this mod for your first one. I like it. Gonna install it in my game and I am definitely using the one with the initiative bonus :-) . I am gonna give it to my Ranger when she dings. She is a friends-of-animals spec and is extremely wary of other people. Thanks for sharing. Will endorse when I can. What tool do you use to create feats? I wouldn't mind making some myself and sharing perhaps if they are good. Thanks
Thanks Just about to roll out an update, stay tuned. I actually didn't use a tool, Sorta self taught myself by looking at other mods that introduce feats and have learned based off that and lostmansoul helped when I couldn't figure out what I had done wrong but now its clear to me
You need the BG3 MultiTool to pak or unpak mods, you run 'Search Index' and it will compile all the data you need to mod. I use Notepad++ and XMLNotepad to open and edit the files. Generally what I did to start is unpak a mod with feats and just study the code, the search index is used when you need to find a spell, ability or icon to use for your mod. I started by making my own armor/weapons but was having trouble with blender, regardless it helped give me a general sense of direction when I started making Feat spells. Weapon Tutorial
I like the idea and have a few ideas actually, but for right now I'm just trying to stay true to the DnD Wiki homebrew. I also don't think any feats in BG3 have negative effects that come with them. Maybe later down the line il add a version with negative effects to counteract the balance. Ideas: - Players with Paranoid cannot benefit from or use the Help action without succeeding on a Wisdom saving throw (Not sure how to do this or if its possible) - Players with Paranoid have disadvantage on Charisma (Or Wisdom) checks. (Easy to implement)
That's a creative feat. Is there a homebrew feat for "Anauraliac"? I'd probably give someone with no internal monologue the initiative edge over someone with an overactive internal monologue. Although, I don't think you can make it mutually exclusive.
I Like the Idea, but it seems a little broken balance wise. Maybe a version without the bonus initiative could be made? We already have the Alert feat and this as it stands just needlessly power creeps that already great feat.
