I'm seeing multiple patch notes about Volo's eye, specifically things that would break this mod. I have had life going on, but I will try to dig through the code soon and see what they did and *hopefully* fix the issue. I've got a few ideas, I have just been busy, so sorry about the delay!

    Hello!

I just ran into a problem where I see the eye. I bought it off Volo, but it does not show as anything equipable. The background looks gray and I cant equip it as an amulet

Sorry, I can't find the eye in any of the camp storages, Volo is long gone from my camp...
What is the exact location where the eye spawns?

I really liked the mod, but I would like alternative versions with the display of the eye on the character and the ability, for example, to remove the eye in the slot for the ring. And the mod is very good, I wish the author good luck and I hope you can make alternative versions.

Does this mod have incompatibilities or conditions where it won't work? I have it loaded but the eye-mulet isn't showing up in the tutorial chest or in Volo's pocket. I even changed my mod order to put it first but that didn't help. Suggestions?

Hmm that is peculiar. If I recall I had some issues on a save where I had already gotten the eye surgery, but the rest of them loaded the eye just fine. I do also have to make sure that I grab it the first time I spawn the tutorial chest after downloading, since it only spawns the once. I haven't had any issues with mod compatibility and I run 150+ mods on my game but that isn't to say that there couldn't be an issue with compatibility somewhere, especially if you have another mod that surrounds Volo's eye? I run it near the bottom of my load order, but above my subclasses and such. If switching it from the top to the bottom doesn't work lmk and I will see what I can figure out.

I didn't realise that it only spawns the first time you load the tutorial chest (duh!). Now that I see that, the mod is working fine. I tested it in a new game and it worked perfectly. Thanks for your quick reply and sorry I made you work for nothing!

How about an alt version that leaves the visual?
I *want* my Volo scrying stone/eye visual, horror-got or not

I'll look around in the code, but I can't make any promises. I'd love to, but truthfully, I don't know how I actually got this working the way I wanted to in the first place 😅. For now I'd suggest going with the heterochromia option in the mirror maybe? I believe the color is 'Blue 3' if the color is what you're looking for.

I'll definitely poke around but sorry I couldn't help more!! Thanks for the comment tho!! 🎉

      Thanks for poking around...
It's not the color I want to keep, so much as the 'scrying stone' vizual you get when Volo fails and gives you the eye/stone (it's the same as Wyll's scrying stone eye)

      fwiw,
Volo's Dark Ersatz Eye at Baldur's Gate 3 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
adds some buffs to Volo's Eye without un-'visualing' the scry eye viz {which some others do, see, e.g., https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/1727}, so maybe it can aid the code poking effort? idk

Aether has a similar tweak for Volo's Eye, but it leaves Tav's eyes unchanged from Volo's eye horrorizing, er, surgery...
      Volo's (Un)Successful Experiment at Baldur's Gate 3 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)

Somewhere in there has gotta be the key to the Visuals that keep the scry eye, n'est-ce pas?
If not, no worries, and appreciate the mod either way.

I'll keep digging around when I have the time, but tbh the more I look around the more confused I get lol. Idk if ill actually be able to figure it out, but ill keep the idea in mind. Hopefully this is sufficient in the meantime, and tysm for your comments!!
