I really like your approach to this. I've always wanted to take True Strike, but making it into a Bonus Action would just make it op and I like to keep a sense of challenge in my game. Is it possible to make a version that only affects True Strike, however? I don't mind Poison Spray and Shocking Grasp being the way they are now and use them from time to time.

Added True Strike only version. (If it doesn't show for you yet, just wait a few minutes.)

I don't know if you still take requests, and thank you again for fulfilling my original request. Been enjoying using this mod a lot, especially now that I'm fully committed to playing the game through. Is it possible to add Blade Ward and Resistance along with True Strike being Once Per Short Rest? I still use Shocking Grasp as is (Poison Spray not as much, although I wouldn't mind having it on a 9m reach like the other cantrips but not as important for me).

If not, understandable and thanks again for the original request either way!

There is a second version in the files that adds vanilla cantrips after using modified cantrips at least once (so you can have both versions at once). I think that is close enough to what you want.

I did see that, yeah. I didn't like the idea of having my hotbars cluttered and with extra of the same abilities. Stressed my OCD out lol. No problem though, thank you ever so much for the mod either way!!! 😁

Is it compatible with e5 spells mod?

I don't think 5e spells changes cantrips, so it should compatible. But if you wanna be extra sure just load this mod below 5e spells.

I love it. It's not for me, but I love it

Love the idea, makes those spells more rewarding without affecting balance (it can actually be considered a nerf in certain situations)

Is it possible to make only the first use a bonus action which refreshes on short rest and after that it costs an action like vanilla?

I don't think it's possible (at least not without scripting, which I'm not familiar with).

Actually now that I think about it might be possible (but could be a bit clunky). I would have to do some testing. If it turns out to not be too bothersome to do I might add it some time later.

I did it. (You will have 2 versions of the spell on your hotbar tho.)

Realy like the balancing, "bonus action" makes them a use at all but "per short rest" stops you from abusing them... specialy "True Strike" gets a bit too strong sudenly if you can cast it every turn for free... will change this out for the mod which makes them only a bonus action for my next playtrough. :3

Thanks! I saw most mods that improve cantrips don't put in any drawbacks or limitations so I wanted to make sth for people who like the idea but still want sth balanced.

Yeah... i found myself using them never as full action... doing damage is better mostly with them this way. But only bonus action... well, as said: Sudenly i have to discipline myself not to cheese some of them.

Would their replenishment also be affected my the bard ability which simulated a short rest?

It should be affected by song of rest, yes.
