Heads up for anyone else using HD Hair and Beards – the upscaled afro/lock textures make these hairs extra transparent, but I was able to fix it by going into the SHARED_Hair and SHARED_Atlas folders and removing everything with 'afro' and 'dreadlock' in the name. No more ghost hair AND you get to keep the other HQ textures!
thank you so much for this! i don't use this mod myself so i wasn't even aware of this being an issue but thank you for bringing it up. pinning it in case anyone encounters the same issue.
No problem! Someone on Bububull's mod mentioned having problems with HQ textures and I realized that might explain the funky transparency issues I was having.
Left is with vanilla textures, right is with HQ textures:
Idk much about hair modding so who knows why it does that. Like maybe upscaling the resolution for the texture just makes it more... gappy?? But vanilla hairs like Plucky Fable and Dandelion don't really have this problem so maybe it's more of like a texture density thing on the mesh itself? Or something??
i don't have hq textures installed, but when coding new hairstyles into the game (like i did with this mod) there actually have been weird transparency issues with the texture for the locs that both me and bububull have experienced. right now i think that it's just weird game engine stuff that's beyond my powers to fix, but it does suck a little bit and i hope someone finds out a solution soon. the geometry for black hair is different than that for straight hair, and modifying it can sometimes take more time to avoid weird transparency, and i think the same goes for upscaling the textures of the hairs. and again, thank you for the comparison image, it's incredibly useful!
Hi Neon! I have recently published my new mod Merfolk Race and would love, with your permission, to patch your hair mod for compatibility. I am more than happy to do it myself, or for you to patch it from your end if you prefer (and if you are free and willing ofc). Thank you so much for your time and your efforts!

Cascade clips through the heads . Too bad for Lions Mane not being on strong bodies, it looks great and the HD Hair Textures pak version now works with this mod seemlessly. Not sure if you're still updating this mod but great work. Adding the Prince of the Gate to the mix was great, made my Dream Guardian look kingly, can't trust that pretty face.
I might look into a way of making Lion's Mane available for BTs 3 and 4, but it would have to be without physics probably. With Cascade, it really depends on the head itself, and it has given me the most trouble with stronger brow ridges. And thank you so much for your words! For this mod itself, I'll only make smaller updates, but I do want to make more hairs.
Absolutely love these hairstyles very well done. Was wondering if it was possible to get a prince of the gate hairstyle without the gold accessories, i love the style but the physics around the accessories seems to get a little wonky at times.
prince of the gate is soooo good for my Tav! would you consider making a version with silver accessories though? gold looks good for Wyll I think but it doesn't suit everyone quite so well...
Hey, I like this mod. So much so that LillyBird and I included it in Listonomicon.
"Listo" is a Wabbajack-powered mod list, that works almost identically to Nexus Collections but uses a community alternative to Vortex to help users download mods from Nexus, put them in the correct order, and prepare their game to play. No mods are repacked, stolen, or distributed directly - users are still directed here, just like with Collections, to download from your Nexus page and ensure you are given the proper download credit.
Due to confusion over what Wabbajack is and what it does, users at the Down By The River community encouraged me to give a courtesy "heads up" to the authors whose work is included in Listonomicon. And to assure them that per Listonomicon's install instructions, users are explicitly told to direct their bug reports issues to us first as mod authors (like you) don't want to deal with being inundated with help requests or bug reports from users with 300+ active mods.
I know that you have already reached out to me over Discord. Like I said there, I look forward to Assorted Hairs or any other mods getting a potential future update, and including them in Listo :)
You can read a little more about our project on Github, though the preferred way to access Listonomicon is via the Wabbajack gallery. A list of all included mods are here. A synopsis of the philosophy of Listo and what we are trying to accomplish (and avoid) can be found in our Whitepaper on the first two pages, and is elaborated starting page 17 "List Philosophy."
If you have any concern about your mod being included in Listonomicon (which is still downloaded from this page, and credits you as the author), please send me a message via Nexus's PM mail. I'm not sure how to get notifications if someone has replied to a comment.
Is there any chance of you adding your Prince of the Gate hair to this mod? It looks incredible! No worries if you can't or don't want to. Have a great day!

This also helps with Bububull's new hairs too!
