This mod only patches for the visual effect files that custom head mods need to add their heads to in order for effect like Speak with Dead to work and make the eyes glow.
Only required if using one of the head mods from this article
This will be in the override section of your mod manager and can remain there.
If you want to use another head mod that isn't covered by this patch but does work for Speak with Dead, please remove this mod from the Mods folder in order for their vfx to work.
Patch 7 As of Patch 7 the above mod is the only one I am continuing to maintain until it is no longer required to do so.
The reason for this, is there is now a more compatible method for adding content to the Races.lsx. It is called MergedInto.
This article now covers all the previous patches. Which can be found under optional in the files section. This includes a list for the Patch 6 version of the Patches for CC Races
The Patches for CC Races will now only be maintained for fixes and removals of mods from it. However that version will be Patch 7 only. If on Patch 6 please stick to the previous patches for CC Races.
Mods updated for Patch 7
Here is an article on mods that still are covered by the Patch 7 version of the Patches for CC Races and also ones no longer covered by the Patch 7 version of the mod. Such as mods that have updated for Patch 7 and no longer need the patch to be compatible with other mods
Hi! Any chance you'd be willing to patch in my heads from this mod? : ) I've thought about asking for a while but I'm pretty certain I won't be adding any more to it at this point. Amazing work as always!
Hey I have the same problem like Zealot90 but with Hearts' Heads with Orion (regular eyes). I tried doing it in different load order and everything, I thought it was her eyes but they were vanilla eye color. So yeah I dunno what could be the issue.
Hi, it actually has 0 to do with what eye colours are chosen in character creation but more on the eye slot being number .2 in the mesh. Technically the mod should be in the override section of BG3MM, as it doesn't need to be in the load order in order to work. Though it should work if in load order too.
I make the mods priority the highest it can be, due to being a patch and needing to not be overridden by others editing the same file. Due to the file being incompatible with others. However what this means if another mod was to set their priority to the highest as well the game plays hot potato on which files loads. Which I sadly then can't control.
I test the mod on every update, and have not personally ran into the issue myself, and just tested again with the Orin head and had no issue. Uploaded new image to show them working.
OK So I figured it out, the reason why it wasn't working was that I had Hearts' heads mod in game mod manager rather than the nexus version of the said mod. Once I made the swap I could see that both mods (patch and nexus version of head) were working properly. If anyone else is having that issue, where you can see the eyes glow in gameplay but not cutscenes, try the nexus version of the mod you have to see if the eyes do glow!
Do be wary though, you cannot swap right away. Keep both the head mod from the in game mod manager and the nexus one, then swap to your character's head to the nexus verison then save right after. You can delete the in game mod version of those heads once you exit out of your game.
It looks beautiful and thank you for your hard work Padme4000.
No problem, not sure if you can fix those heads in mod.io or not but regardless I appreciate that you helped me and updated regardless. Not sure if other heads that got ported to mod.io have these issues or not.
My myky M01(Myky's Heads) doesn't seem to work with the VFX mod properly. In gameplay speak with the dead VFX can be seen. But, in cutscene it doesn't. It seems as though the effect is behind the eyes instead of in front.
It could be that the head you are using was a more recent addition to the mod, as the last version I updated for this mod was 1.5 and the current myky heads is 1.6.1. They are however being added in the next update which I will be working on soon.
Not sure if this is intentional or not, but as of the latest patch for BG3MM, it seems the Patches for VFX Heads appears in the 'override' section of the load order.
I just want to make sure if it should be there or not! Thanks for all that you do! <3
Hi Padme, As author of Song of the Sea, I give permission for patching the heads for VFX and would second this request! To support, I've added an article on my mod page with all the head visual resource uuid's , please let me know if that helps! Thank you for everything you do for this community!
I was wondering if you would be able to make a VFX patch for OnHee's head presents and Minseo And Sohee Presets by Onhee? I really like their heads but the is no eye VFX for any of the heads.

If you are a modder and are interested in updating your mod so it works with the new MergedInto feature and/or Toolkit I made a guide Converting our Existing Mods to the Toolkit + Some Tips. I also suggest this guide Compatibility Changes in Patch 7: Merging a once over. Along with the other guides available for the toolkit.
