- It says that if i have a mod that improves the level cap Brute Force does not progress past level 10 (1d6), so if i use UnlockLevelCurve i will find this issue? So how do i get the rest of the party to level up with my character?
- Is it updated to patch 7? i saw someone saying it doesn´t work but i would like to know if it´s an isolated case or if it is not updated.
I understand if you have no plans to do so, but just in case! Will you make this mod accessible trough the official toolkit? I would love to use it and for some reasons i can't seem to make it work when i try from the Nexus... :(
I appreciate this mod! I ended up using this class cause I loved the under utilized Sahuagin in BG3 and wanted to play as one. The problem was they are actually missing a lot of animations even though the ones that are there are pretty awesome. So I picked this class cause it doesn't really have any abilities that require animations lol. I also used Cheat Engine to add the Sahuagin NPC abilities like Blood Frenzy, Net Throw and MultiAttack so may have been mildly OP but was fun as hell!
Hey would you be ok with me adding a patch to my series to make this compatible with the Alternate Fighter mod?
I'm not changing anything about the class just making a new progression to allow it to be selected by users of Alternate Fighter and be able to select and receive exploits as they level.
Edit: Nvm you're the first creator who doesn't require to ask in you permissions section so I didn't think to check
could you make a mod where brute force and devastating critical are feats that any class can get? i really like them but i wanted to play as a barbarian.
Hey, are you planning to update this when the new SE releases? And just out of interest, did that relaxed version you added to main files end up having unarmed work with the subclass?
I made the Brute subclass to dip my toes into modding with something simple that had grounding in the tabletop rules so it would be easily accepted.
I can't find any official UA for a Brawler class/subclass and I'm already working on another project. However, I've see quite a few people asking about a "brawler" of sorts and I would also like to see a musclebound, barehanded bruiser to contrast the Monk's mystical martial artist vibe. Punching things is fun and Monk shouldn't have a monopoly on it!
I have some ideas on how to make a fun unarmed fighter class that is distinct from Monk. I'll see if I can get around to it after tackling my current project.
We originally used Brute (UA) at our table as an alternative to Monk for folks (like myself) that wanted non-esoteric punchy bois like boxers and wrestlers. We found other sources with many more fun class, spells, and flavour in our search. Here are the best punchy boi subs we've found:
Best supplemental materials are Tome of Heroes: - Pugilist sub-class for Fighter which is *chefs kiss* magnifique~! Haven't seen a better implementation of the concept yet. - the sub class is specialized in unarmed combat, contains Tavern Brawler features by default, and gets a lot of Second Wind uses to really sustain damage like an MMA expert going round-for-round in a ring
Also DMG's Tiny Hut of Too Many Things: - College of Fisticuffs sub-class for Bard which is even more magnificent than Pugilist from the above mentioned! - It is very Bard like. Not only focuses on unarmed combat but even permits the bard to use CHA for attack & damage rolls (for punching).
Just thought I'd mention these, they're wonderful. I don't expect you or anyone to go out there and buy 3rd party books, but they are certainly wonderful things to own :)
It's funny you should ask. That was originally the plan, but the rules specifically say "Whenever you hit with a weapon [...]"
However, I agree that it's way cooler to get the damage on unarmed attacks, too! I'll probably release a "relaxed rules" version of the Brute that applies Brute Force to unarmed attacks and removes the "in combat" requirement on Survivor so it achieves parity with the Champion's (better) version of Survivor.
I'm sure it doesn't, but you raise an excellent point. There is no such thing as proficiency in improvised weapons in BG3, but I believe I can check specifically for the Tavern Brawler feat and allow Brute Force and Devastating Critical to apply to improvised weapon attacks. This change would make sense even RAW, since it does align with "any weapon you're proficient with" and RAW Tavern Brawler specifying that it grants you proficiency with improvised weapons.
I'll look into this and roll out an update if/when I get it working. Thanks for pointing it out!
