"The rework does not work with x mod's Speak with Dead" then don't use it. Just use the tweaks.
The rework is for people who want corpse highlighting to work permanently (as in, after resting) without having to cast Speak with Dead again when using the base game's Speak with Dead.
Fyi in case anyone else ran into this: After updating to Patch 3, "Recast Speak with Dead" isn't automatically being added to the quick access bar/radial menu, but you can still manually add it and cast from there. I thought the patch had broken this mod, but was still having the issue even after uninstalling. Folks with and without mods are having this issue (including console players), so it's not an issue with this mod. Just figured it's worth mentioning in case someone else is having trouble figuring out the problem.
hi. i'm using the unlimited questions version of your mod and it works great and i love it. the only "problem" is that gale normally gets inspired while speaking to a corpse for the first time and it doesn't happen with the mod installed. it's not something i can't live without, but i thought i would stop by and mention it, maybe you know a fix :) thank you for your really great work!
This shouldn't affect that, as it just removes the "you've asked the maximum number of questions" flag. The only thing I can think of is if that inspiration only triggers when you ask the max number of questions, or if it does not trigger when you hit "leave" during a SwD conversation.
thanks for replying :3 i recently started a new game and wanted to test if i get the inspiration without the mod and i did. so i reinstalled after and all is great in the world :3 i think it's a super minor inconvenience and the mod is otherwise amazing :3 so thanks for sharing it with us and thanks again for replying :)
update: is it possible that the mod doesn't work with the last patch? it worked fine before it and stopped working after, i'm not getting all of the dialogues anymore
i think it might not be because of the mod, but rather because the script extender needs to be updated, since it seems to not be compatible with the new patch.
Hey, where do you see the bg3se update? GitHub seems to still only show the update from 9/4/23. I'm a bit hesitant to try playing on my save until I know if all is well or not, but I see different takes on that so far. Was hoping I might find clarity when I came to see if this needed to be updated lol
i installed bg3se with bg3 mod manager and it gets instantly updated when u start the game. so u basically just need to install it once, and every time u start the game, if the se was updated, it will automatically update with no need to redownload/ reinstall.
as for my other issue - if there will be a fix for gale not getting inspired, it would be great, but honestly, that's something you can trigger very early in game, so i went to get the inspiration point without the mod and after that i reinstalled. i am personally not very much bothered by it :) thanks a lot for taking the time to reply tho, Cytraen <3
Tested several times on Patch 3. It's confirmed that the Unlimited Questions mod caused the issue of no inspiration point gained. Even if you haven't installed the UQ mod and in game you "leave" the SWD spell before its power wanes, you won't get the inspiration point cuz the game just thinks you haven't finish the spell and won't give away the reward. So here's nothing to do with this well designed mod itself.
Hey i got a question not related to the mod but around this thread, does the script extender auto updates or should i check regularly for new releases in the github ?
If you use the BG3 Mod manager it should check for an update and do it when you launch the game. It also has a built in button to download the latest version.
Just to get this straight: I used the previous version with 3 files: SWDQuestions, SWDRework and SWDKiller. Now I can remove the previous mods totally and just use this one mod and it handles the functions of the previous 3 mods at the same time, yes?
EDIT: After removing the 3 previous mods and installing the damaged corpse rework, the questions are limited back to 5. So I have to use the unlimited question mod reinstalled?
EDIT2: Furthermore, despite using the script extender, there is no SE folder in the folder at the location stated. Only log folders. I think I'm going to use the older version.
Thank you for the Speak w/ Damaged Courpses update on 9/28 - previous version was causing none of my mods to load when I had it active. I appreciate your work!
Replying to the above because I just had the same issue. I wasted so much time thinking Vortex had bugged out or something but the moment I uninstalled this mod it let my other mods load again. No idea what caused that but I literally uninstalled BG3 and Vortex and started fresh trying to fix it, only to find out it was somehow this mod... I don't get it.
It's now a 'known issue' in the bug report section so hopefully we see a fix soon.
I had no idea bodies were glowing green because you could speak to them. I thought it was because they had some important item I should check like it was some sort of Investigation Check. :U
I'm using the burnt corpses edition, and both optionals. No other mods that alter speak with the dead. After I cast the spell (on self is the only option), the "recast speak of the dead" button does NOT show up. So now I can't use the spell on any corpse at all. I do have the mod fixer and the script extender installed, they work fine with other mods. I just can't get yours to work sadly.
Then you either have a conflicting mod or the category for temporary spells like Speak with Dead or Dread Ambusher has more than 4 things in it and you need to expand the bar.
1. Someone already posted about 5e Spells and said there's no issue. 2. If there is no Speak with Dead in the mod, there is no conflict. 3. If there is Speak with Dead in the mod, then depending on the mod, only the reworks and/or SwBC will conflict. The optional files will not.
