I have half your mods but I have to wait before I can endorse this one >.> Genius by nexus! Imagine how many ppl don't wait and later simply forget, and some good work does not get as popular as it should.
One thing i will point out tho. I am gonna be modding the ranged weapon scaling into "Bladesong". Cus to me this class is a battle mage. Or at least it should be a canvas for one. WizardOTC with their new D&D approach of making classes FOR the player instead of letting us craft them...
Imagine if a paint salesmen just slapped you in the face and gave you a drawing of a dancing elf and told you they painted it FOR YOU cus they see you as a toddler with crayons... (Legit their first version FORCED YOU to be an elf bard basically!)
Yeh that is how I feel about the "spirit" of what WOC is limiting us with XD So F it I am combining your mods with artificer and some others to make a gun singer out of spite! Aahah thanks again for your amazing contributions man.
Thanks for the report. That's strange. I will look into it, but since it works as intended and it's just a very small visual text bug it's low on my priority list.
I tested today that if I turned the "expansion" mod off, the problem that Bladesong Power resources spawning on other companions seems no longer exists. Would it be possible that this is caused by mod conflict to the Bladesinger added by expansion mod?
In my case, Gale was the Bladesinger from expansion mod before I install this mod, and I respec the Gale into the Bladesinger in this mod after install the mod.
Attacking Gale will not trigger the problem but any ways that grants Gale a condition will cause spellcaster (or the source character) to have Bladesong Power spawns on their hotbar. This includes Darkness, Water Walk (from 5e spells), Hex, Haste, and even the Bless granted by "The Whispering Promise" ring via healing. The number of Bladesong Power is not tied to proficiency bonus in my case but rather fixed at 2.
Simply respecc the companion to level 1 again will get rid of the Bladesong Power resource.
That could explain it, as I'm very sure this mod IS NOT causing that bug as the changes done by this mod can't possibly cause such a scenario. Some people have said it may be base-game bug, unrelated to any mods, but maybe you are onto something and the cause is the Expansion mod's unofficial Bladesinger somehow conflicting with the new Patch 8 official Bladesinger.
Two questions:
Can you test changing the order by placing my mod after the Expansion mod?
Can you check if disabling the Bladesinger from Expansion completely prevented the issue (using Expansion's MCM menu you can completely disable the unofficial Bladesinger added by Expansion)?
Keep in mind also that this mod does not touch the unofficial Bladesinger from Expansion at all, I modify the official Bladesinger with the official modding tools and nothing else.
This is the load order I made, and I unchecked bladesinger option from Expansion mod (the option in the very bottom of the expansion MCM menu), and this problem still exists.
EDIT: Neither of your mod and expansion mod have this issue when enabled alone, but two of them combined causes the issue.
Glad found this post) I have the same issue with bladesong power on unintended companions(only Laezel in my case others are fine for now, I am playing Gale as bladesinger). Couldn't find if its vanilla thing, this mod, or mb mystic class mod (Laezel' class is mystic) or something else. I am not using expansion mod btw, should be something else. I am using a lot of mods and debugging kinda problematic.
Hey guys, I finally fixed this! No more seeing Bladesong Power on other characters. Big thank you to Celes (Expansion and 5e Spells' author) for helping me figure this one out. Make sure to download the Update Version 1.1 and then respec your Bladesinger for the fix to apply! It had nothing to do with Expansion or any other mod after all so don't worry about that.
Any chance you could add a version of the mod that only has the Song of War feature to cast a cantrip instead of an attack? I feel like the other new features are slightly too overpowered
Edit: Oh, nevermind. I just saw your "underwear" mod https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/15801 that does almost exactly that lmao. Thanks anyway for your great work!
Yes, that mod grabs my War Magic PHB2024 and turns it into an ''underwear'' or Feat that can be used by any class. It's good for people that only want that for other classes. Can't say I agree that these changes are overpowered (if you do the math, it doesn't really get that high bonuses, those ''strong'' boosts actually just make it so you are not made of tissue-paper in melee; remember Bladesong limits you on what weapons you can use and you can't use Medium/Heavy Armor nor shields it all balances out, plus you can't do it all the time, it lasts 10 turns and you don't have infinite Bladesong charges).
So, the only cantrip I can get this mod to work with is BB. Since no one else has mentioned that issue, I have to assume there is a conflict with another mod I'm running. Maybe the spell mods?
I'm currently running 5e Spells and 2024 Spell Updates (only found in the official mod manager). Also running "Weapon Action Per Combat". Makes it so you can use each weapon's proficiency actions once per combat. So it's at least accessing related files....I guess.
From the mods you mentioned only the 2024 Spell Updates could conflict, if the author for some reason didn't put the appropriate tags and stats in his modified cantrips, but that's highly unlikely.
You are not really saying what doesn't work with what exactly (''this mod with cantrips'' is extremely vague) and how is it that it's not working (what is the expected behaviour and what is it that actually happens to you), you have to be more specific if you want assistance.
Hi! Thanks for the mod, it's great. I am noticing that the "Bladesong Power" resource shows up on the hotbars for all my companions, not just the Bladesinger, just letting you know.
I just tested this myself multiple times (latest Steam game version, all mods updated) and I can't reproduce this, and it's kinda impossible for that to happen on this mod on its own given how it's made. There is nothing this mod does that could give it to another character (this mod doesn't touch other classes) and I didn't even modify the Bladesong Power Action Resource in anyway other than changing it's description.
Sorry guys but it sounds like a mod conflict on your side. I'd bet it's some kind of User Interface mod conflicting (although I use myself all the famous UI mods from Caites and they work perfectly). Whatever it is, it's not caused by this mod.
One thing you could test to get more information about it: see if when you expend Bladesong Power in your Bladesinging Wizard it also affects the number shown on the other (non-Bladesinger) characters. If it does, it's almost certainly a UI mod conflicting.
Interesting! Here's what I've found from more testing: 1) I initially downloaded this mod partway through a playthrough. That's when the extra Bladesong charges showed up on everyone's hotbars. 2) The other companions' Bladesong charges don't change when Gale (my Bladesinger) uses a charge. 3) Respeccing the companions (even without changing anything, just going to Withers) fixes this bug!
Thanks for the information. Maybe it happened because you already had a Bladesinger Wizard before installing the mod? But yeah, I'm glad to hear a respec fixes it.
1) downloaded this mod during patch 8 2) specced Gale into Bladesinger only after downloading this mod 3) if an ally attacks Gale, they also get the replenishable Ressource from bladesinger above the hotbar 4) respeccing does not help removing this from the hotbar as someone suggested 5) Disabling this mod keeps the bladesinger power showing up on others companions hotbars
I am still trying to figure out what the problem is, as someone said its a vanilla bug (it only happens with this mod for me) Ill do some more testing and will give an update later
UPDATE: only way to remove the Bladesong power from companions who werent actually a Bladesinger was to respecc them to level 1, level into bladesinger and then respecc again to a whole different class (without this mod installed anymore) i tried 4 different version of UI Mods (better hotbar) but that wasnt the issue The charges of Bladesong power on each companion were tied to their own profiency bonus. Charges used from the actual Bladesinger didnt reduce the charges from the companions were the ressource showed up sadly i couldnt find a fix for it, maybe someone else can find out what the problem is
Yeah, I've already heard from a lot of people that it's base-game issue. It's not related to this mod. Specially the fact the ''fake charges'' on the allies follow Proficiency Bonus which this mod completely changes (which shows the Bladesong charges you see on allies are not from this mod). It's up to Larian to fix it.
Works nicely. My only complaint is the passive for turning int on for attacks needs to be enabled everytime you bladesong instead of it automatically turning on. Kind of annoying.
Yes. To quote my other comment. It should already support lvl 20 progression (as long as Expansion is adding it). The only extra thing I can do (and will do) is add an optional file that moves Song of Victory from Lvl 12 to Lvl 14 (to follow the standard Level 20 progression).

weapon attack (action) + weapon attack (extra attack) --> works fine
cantrip (action) + weapon attack (extra attack) --> missing tooltip ("not found" for extra attack)
looks like this ingame: https://imgur.com/a/PlwqTwt
i am using also your mod DnD 5R - Eldritch Knight - War Magic and Improved War Magic PHB 2024 (latest update)
load order:
- DnD 5R War Magic and Improved War Magic
- Bladesinger DnD 5R Changes
it works as intended, its just the text in the tooltip missing

so i doubt its a vanilla thing, its more likely this mod clashing with some other mod
(because why isnt is happening with this mod disabled?)
