This is a great idea! Would you be able to also make something that works the same for sending items to other characters/players? Being able to magically send a potion over removes some of the challenge. Having to prepare the items on each character before combat would make it more intense.

Hey,you reminded me.I hadn't thought of that before. But the logic of transferring items to other teammates during combat might be quite complex. If we simplify it first, maybe we can start by consuming 1 Action point.
Then we could determine the distance between the two allies. If the distance is too far,the transfer could be refused.Or,if the movement range allows, the character could move to transfer the item?
I think we can try to modify it.

Do you guys have any good ideas?Let's discuss!

Here's a simple idea: prohibit item transfer during combat, but allow items to be dropped. After all, picking up items doesn't require action points.

That would also work! Then you'd have to actually toss the item to each other in combat.

Not yet. I haven't thought of a better way and have even found more minor issues. I'm working on other mods and might need some time to organize my thoughts.

This mod is based on a false premise.   In the core 5e rules dropping an item doesn't cost an action.  From the PHB: "You can also interact with one object or feature of the environment for free, during either your move or your action".    The game stumbles by letting you do it over and over again, but it is correct to let you do it once for free.

I'm just commenting because I was looking for a mod that impliments this and thought this might be it, but it doesn't sound like this mod lets you do even one drop for free.

I can accept that drop items is a free action, and in fact, I do think so. But currently, the Drop action is understood here as having the same effect as throwing. So it seems to have become an "action".
Actually, I'm really stuck on this issue. And for some reasons, I don't want to make it too complicated.

In a way, I see "Drop something" as an action that should at least cost some resource. Maybe our understanding of "Drop" is different. If I have time, I'll create an "action resource" to solve the item placement problem in battles.
But right now, you can't freely place items in battles since "Drop" is still linked to throwing and other basic things. Given the current limitations, a simple solution isn't possible yet.

Perhaps a spell-like action similar to throwing could be created, allowing the selection of an item from the backpack to place within a 1.5-meter range in combat, once per turn. Alternatively, "Drop something" could consume an action or be prohibited in combat.

It's frustrating that I haven't been able to simply prevent characters from passing or dropping items in combat. I hope someone can help implement this.
