Sooooo the lighting in the Act 1 wilderness camp is pretty bright, yeah?
...Well, not anymore!
This mod makes a subtle tweak to the lighting in that camp, by making new lighting and atmosphere resources, and swapping the day lighting/atmosphere resources for that camp to use mine, instead of the ones it originally used.
It doesn't override the existing lighting or atmosphere resources, just swaps the ones that camp uses to the ones I made.
No other lighting in the game should be affected.
I've included some comparison shots in the mod page images, so you can see what I changed! (...The changes are pretty subtle in the overworld, though, and are most noticeable in conversations, so I've only provided comparisons of the lighting when talking to companions π All of the overworld screenshots on the mod page were taken with the mod.)
As mentioned above, this mod doesn't override existing lighting resources, just uses OSI code to replace the ones that camp uses, so lighting in other parts of the game shouldn't be affected. However, any other mods that update lighting for that camp might conflict with this one, and I haven't tested it with level edits yet! Let me know if you run into any issues with lighting in other parts of the game, or issues with using this mod with other camp edit mods.
Install via BG3 Mod Manager!
This mod does not require Script Extender, or any other mods, and will update the lighting on loading a save, even mid-playthrough!
Uninstallation:
IMPORTANT:
When uninstalling this mod mid-playthrough, you will need to use the uninstaller provided on the downloads page!
The uninstaller will swap the day lighting resources for the camp back to the originals, so the game won't keep trying to reference the old ones. This can mean that, while your save will probably load, you might not be able to interact with things in the wilderness camp level like the camp chest, etc.
Here's how to use the uninstaller:
- Replace the original Wilderness Camp Lighting Tweaks mod with the Uninstaller in your mod load order. Make sure the original mod is NOT in your active load order, just the uninstaller.
- Load the game and make a new save. (You'll need to do this for each save you had the mod installed in.)
- Close the game.
- Remove the uninstaller from your mod load order (or just remove it from your mods folder entirely), then save and export your new mod load order to the game.
- Load your save and verify you can open the camp chest, enter/leave camp, etc, and that the lighting has been restored to how it originally was.
- If everything looks good, make a new save; you've successfully uninstalled the mod!
...And that's about it! As always, let me know if you run into any issues, and enjoy! πΌπππ³πΏ

Before you go, please check out these resources I've compiled.
I do link them on pretty much all my mod pages, but considering everything going on in the world, I wanted to highlight them. There's a lot going on right now, so, please, do what you can to help, and take care of yourselves, ok?
(...Also, hey, if you like my work, and would like to support me, I have a ko-fi here: https://ko-fi.com/herotune
And an itch.io page here: https://herotune.itch.io/
I've got a game of my own and a brush pack I use to draw horns on there; it'd mean a lot if you checked them out!)
