    Respeccing can clean up leftover crap, but below are some console commands you can run in the SE console to clean up too.
    RemoveStatus( GetHostCharacter(), "GOON_GALE_MAGICAL_APPETITE_UNLOCK")
    RemoveStatus( GetHostCharacter(), "GALE_GOON_MAGICALLERGY_UNLOCK_STATUS")
    RemoveStatus( GetHostCharacter(), "GALE_WILDMAGIC_PERMANENT_REMOVAL")
    RemoveStatus( GetHostCharacter(), "GOON_MAGICALLERGY_AURA")
    RemovePassive( GetHostCharacter(), "Gale_WildMagic")

    Hey, thanks for modding. I am playing as gale origin and encountering a crash when talking to elminster (exactly when the dialogue ends). Any idea what this could cause? Doesn't have to be your mod per se.

    Hey Goon. Perhaps outside of the scope of this mod but is there a chance you could use your modding wizardry to fix a vanilla bug regarding gale and include it in this mod?

    When Gale is downed his necrotic aura activates. When revivify is used on Gale while he is downed he gets back up but his necrotic aura remains. You have to kill him to remove it which is not ideal.

    Just an idea, thanks for the mod!

      That's not a guaranteed occurrence, I took a look at it though and I think I could add a safety to it doesn't happen at all/happens less. I would probably just make a new mod so people knew the fix existed?

    oooh this is so awesome as a concept! I really did think it was so weird how like, easy it was to manage gale's netherese orb, especially after such a big deal was made about it too.

    In the same vein as this, do you think you'd ever consider making a mod like this, but for Astarion's vampiric hunger? We all know that he gets his Happy buff when he feeds on thinking creatures - but I always thought it was odd that there wasn't any negative consequences to him NOT feeding at all. Like, maybe in tandem with his "Happy" buff, if he doesn't drink blood for after two long rests, he starts getting  a debuff called "Hungry," that maybe lowers his stats and makes it more important to make sure he has thinking creature blood to give him the happy buff instead, or at the very least bite something that'll give him nutrition and get rid of the debuff. Idk, I think it'd be an interesting concept to add to the game, especially since, well, unlike Gale's Netherese orb stabilization that can happen in act 2, Astarion's vampiric hunger never goes away, so it would always have to be factored in fights and stuff.

    Just spitballing an idea out here though! I think it's so cool that you're making mods to counteract how overpowered having other gear mods themselves can be :P

      Hard agree--Gale's mechanic is such a narrative letdown! It's so important, and so dangerous, but.... you can look in a random barrel and find something for him to eat. It's virtually no risk, and no sacrifice from the player. It may as well not even be in the game at that point.

      Also, think adding something similar for Astarion could be narratively satisfying, especially if you're going the route to romance him. Like, we can choose to let him feed from ourselves, at the risk of being weaker the next day, or let him feed from someone else, but... I dunno, I mean it's morally dubious, but mechanically what would the trade-off be?

      All that to say, I want more difficulty, not just mechanically, but narratively/morally. I want to make hard decisions, and not be sure what the right choice is, or if there even is a right choice.

      Yeah thanks for the ideas guys. So I can think of something for Astarion I'm sure but I'll be working on other stuff before that, I like the idea presented though.

      As for Gale and changing what magic items he can eat, that's in the templates for each item and would just require changing a lot of them, or I could perhaps use a custom tag and edit scripts. So it's not something that's very easily changes is all I'm getting at, at least for compatibility with other mods editing these same templates.

      There's also the fact that unlike early access Gale basically says outright, he'll eat anything. There would be a lack of cohesion to restrict it, so perhaps dialogue editing would be in order.

      All this to say that these changes are on the backburner, but swell ideas nonetheless.

      Couldn't you restrict it to at least blue items. In the beginning they are not in abundance and you might have Gale at least on occasion suffer from the hunger.

      Not for the moment, that doesn't change the way I would have to implement it. Poor compatibility, I'd prefer a different approach through SE or something but that's more time than I'm willing to put to this for now.

    Fantastic idea! Now if only there was a way to make Gale ask for more magical items; the place is so littered with magical artifacts it barely matters. And maybe make it so they need to be of increasing rarity/power each time. It's too easy as is.

      Agreed on all counts!

      I don't know if you played early access, but the things he needed to "assuage his hunger" were much rarer and more powerful. There were only five items that would do. They were, the flask you find in the Zhentarim's chest, a staff (staff of crones) you find in auntie Ethel's basement, the sword of justice (Ander's sword from the "paladins" you kill for Karlach), there was a Selune' necklace in Dror Ragzlin's hoard, the Necromancy of Thay was another, and the Idol of Silvanus. I wonder if people whinging about their precious items didn't cause Larian to change things up? Heh, who knows.

      No, I never played Early Access, but that sounds like the experience I'd prefer! It feels like such a useless/unimpactful mechanic in its current state. I have no difficult decisions to make, no sacrifices, just toss him some monk gear that no one was gonna use any way and done. He's a magic trashcan.
