I'm just about to start a new playthrough so I haven't run into Scratch yet, but does this work with re-skins of our best boy? I'm using the "Collie" skin from Scratch Variety mod.
Hehe :D I used the Princess Scratch in one of my old playthroughs as well :D With the little bow.. <3 I'm pretty sure it will work, since these are just reskins they shouldn't affect Scratch's skills at all. Let me know in case that's not it!
I so want this mod, but I'm worried it won't be compatible with Scratch Dog Training, which I load after Scratch and Shovel so it overrides Scratch and still buffs Shovel and Us.
Edit: I didn't check the compatibility files before posting the comment, I'm dumb. lol I'm still concerned that it might somehow interact with Scratch and Shovel, though... I am willing to give it a try.
Second edit: I'm getting a conflict warning when I download both the main file and the patch. Do I need both of them or do both function as a main file? I'm noticing they both share the same file name, so I'm assuming I only need one and it's not a "patch" per say, but a full version with added compatibility.
You only need one. In this case you need the Scratch Training version :) I'm waiting for a reply from the author of Scratch and Shovel to make a compatibility patch for that too - but if you're using the Scratch Training part of Scratch I think you just need to load my Scratch Training version last and it should be okay! Let me know.
I ended up having to remove your mod because it actually interfered with Scratch Training. Upon installing your mod and loading it after Scratch Training, the ability "Barkic Inspiration" was removed from Scratch's toolkit.
For Scratch Training yes. I haven't yet gotten a response from the Scratch and Shovel author and their edit permissions are not free, so we have to wait a bit I guess!
I'm overriding Scratch and Shovel with Dog Training, anyway.... AND I just found a new Shovel Mod which will override the Shovel part of Scratch and Shovel, making Us the only minion that the mod will cover.
Now to find an independent Us mod to completely overhaul my favorite brain doggo!
I mean... if you want! In truth, Us doesn't really need a lot of work that I can imagine, but I'm also not very imaginative when it comes to such mods. If anything, due to the difficulty mods I use, I'd like Us to have a bit of a buff and additional abilities which can synergize with one another. Just something to help my favorite brain baby be able to be viable in a much harder difficulty setting.
But I know not everyone will be cool with having an unbalanced buff like that, so... idk. I'd be eager to see what you come up with, though!
- Fixed the ^ diacritics in Faerun - Reuploaded a fixed Scratch Dog Training version, I must have been drunk when I copied those stats over - Added 2 versions compatible with oogabooga66's Best Boy, both Normal and Invincible version.
Will add more compatibility when I get permissions to do so!
There's a buff in Summons Utility and Buffs if that tickles your fancy!
Just wondering quickly what the need for changing the passives in Dog Training compatible version? The mark ability has been removed and the hidden passives have been altered. Mostly curious as I'm trying to merge the best changes from even more Scratch mods together.
Best boy can dig SDT compat version Character.txt passives: data "Passives" "DarknessRules; AttackOfOpportunity; ShortResting; Hidden1SDT_Passive; Hidden2SDT_Passive; Hidden3SDT_Passive; UncannyDogeSDT_Passive; ScratchSniffSDT_Passive; CanineAgilitySDT_Passive; Mobile_DashAcrossDifficultTerrain; PScent_SDT_Passive; Alert"
Hidden1SDT_Passive; Hidden2SDT_Passive; Hidden3SDT_Passive has replaced Hidden0SDT_Passive; MarkerSDT_Passive
Oh boy, so that's what people have been saying. I'm not sure how it happened cause I copied the stats from Scratch training but maybe they were copied wrong. I'll check the original and update today. 🤔
I didn't realise BG3 modding was mostly such simple text files and now I can merge mods together :D
Btw you can use Notepad++'s compare plugin to increase the chances of avoiding stuff like this; it's how I found the discrepancy. FWIW I didn't check through the entire mod for issues, I was just trying to copy some of the changes into other mods so when I load them together they're not overwritten.
Hiya! Looked at the code, and since both mods modify the FindFamiliar_Dog character, I don't know if there's a way of run-time merging the edits of both (the stats from Best Boy, the spell from Can Dig). On my forked copy, I made my own merge.
new entry "FindFamiliar_Dog" type "Character" using "Dog" data "DefaultBoosts" "UnlockSpell(Target_Dig)" data "Vitality" "25" data "Passives" "DarknessRules;AttackOfOpportunity;ShortResting;Alert" data "ActionResources" "ActionPoint:1;BonusActionPoint:1;Movement:12;ReactionActionPoint:1" data "Dexterity" "18" data "Charisma" "18" data "DarkvisionRange" "6" data "DifficultyStatuses" "STATUS_EASY:PLAYER_BONUSES_EASYMODE"
that, plus the Target_Dig and DiggingScratch entries you already had.
As a side note, for localization, you can encode diacritics into HTML and they'll show up in-game (example online tool coderstoolbox.net ). The circumflex in Faerûn is (without spaces) 251 ; and displays fine in-game.
Now I've got a tough digging Scratch :D Thanks for the mod!
Exactly! This is what I did for the Scratch training but I have to ask permission from the mod authors before I do this so that's why it's not there still, afaik I had not received a response yet from them.
But if it's your personal copy, you can do what you want 😁
Thanks for the symbol info! I'll add it when I update!
Yeah, I totally get it. I looked a bit at trying to declare a dependency, but that seems intended for re-using assets (e.g. meshes) from other sources instead. Without a run-time merge of this type of data, one is forced to copy the code of others, which can be problematic for distribution without proper attribution and/or permissions.
That said, their permissions on that mod for "enhance my stuff" are green, so if they're MIA, I think this would count as fair game
I believe you're right, since they aren't replying but it says you're allowed to edit the files as long as you credit them, I'll add a version with compatibility for their mod for those who want it :D

As always, load my mod after the one it's compatible with.

I checked Scratch Training but it's not updated?
