Update 2024.04.08:
Ported the Half-orc head to Half-elf intended for use with Soriyumi's Orc Half-elf Subrace
It is however an option for all BT2 Half-elves.

⫸ About:

A resculpt based on the Half-elf Head 2 to try to make it look like another character of mine. This was a personal project and my first time
modding anything in BG3, so after much trial and error* getting it to work I figure I may as well share, maybe someone else likes it too. The more CC options the merrier, I'd say.

Standalone new head available to Body Type 2 (standard masc):
  • Elf/Drow
  • Half-elf/-drow
  • (Modded subrace) Orc Half-elf
  • Human
  • Tiefling
  • Githyanki

and for Body Type 4 (strong masc):
  • Elf/Drow
  • Half-elf/-drow
  • Human
  • Half-orc
  • Tiefling

... Halfling version found as "Reza" in my Heads for the Short Lads

⫸ Installation:

  •  Download either Alt Masc HE Head 2   -or-   Alt Masc HE Head 2 - Unique Tav
  •  Unzip the downloaded file and place the jerinski_MHEB_alt.pak   -or-   jerinski_MHEB_alt_uniquetav.pak into your game's Mods folder: ..\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
  •  Use BG3 Mod Manager and move mod from Inactive over to Active Mods. Save load order and then Export to game.
Make sure you don't have both standard version and Unique Tav version in the load order!
  •  In CC you should now see a new head icon for the above races named: [J] HE2 alt

To update mod just overwrite the .pak in your Mods folder.
If you want to switch between standard and custom tat version, remember to move the other to inactive mods.

⫸ Notes / Issues:

  • Half-orc: there be minor clipping in the tusk area, tried to mitigate as best I could. Snakebite piercings will clip a bit but they still look cool. Also, for better skin texture consistency I recommend turndapage's Half-orc Smooth Skin mod.
  • Gith: two versions included - one with non-serrated ears but better seam, one with githy ears but I couldn't get the seam perfect.
  • Unique Tav compatibility: if you use Kartoffels' Unique Tav, install HE Head 2 - Unique Tav. If you don't use that mod, use the standard version or you won't have any tattoos/makeup showing at all.
  • Regarding head VFX: The head VFX (speak with dead, etc) for head mods DO NOT merge, so there will be compatibility issues. Priority in mods folder for this is random. Luckily, Padme has been working on/released a community patch. If you install this you should be able to have all the VFX-ready head mods installed without these conflicts.

To-Do list:
  •  Fix neck seam for Elf and Half-elf.   Done. v1.0.2
  •  Fix ear seam for Elf.   As of v1.0.3 tried to fix as best I could. It's a bit better at least.
  •  Human version.   Done. v1.0.3
  •  Tiefling version.   Done. v1.0.4b
  •  Strong variants.   Done. v1.0.9
  •  Githyanki version.   Done. v1.0.7
  •  Half Orc version.   Done. v1.0.8

  • Aloija's BG3 Armature Tools for Blender, which is a great add-on for getting animations and piercings/beards to fit to new facial structures
