So if you don't like what I've done, just scroll on by and forget you ever saw the mod.
INTRODUCTION
I love playing Origin characters for their backstories, but I always play as a female so I decided to create a female version of Astarion. I know there are other options out there, but I haven’t found one that really clicks with me. There is nothing wrong with the other mods. Aesthetic modifications are purely subjective.
GENERAL STUFF
- Astaria has fangs, bite marks and the ritual scar on her back.
- Astaria's hair is from Minharpy Hair. Huge thanks to lilithiraa for having open permissions which allowed me to use this hair. You do not need to install this mod but it would be nice if you still download it so you can endorse it.
- Astaria's Armour is of my own creation (really just modified Leather Armour +2 with custom colors). I'm very new to this, but I hope you like it. I also gave her new camp clothing. All of which are dyable if you don't like the colors I selected.
- Unlocks class selection during Character Creation.
- Unlocks background during Character Creation.
- Astarion's animations have been modified to work with Astaria's BT1 although I'm sure I missed some. There are A LOT.
- Camera may be a bit high in some scenes. I have no clue how to modify the camera but I will try to figure it out.
- Body Type is locked in. It is not possible to change it anyway.
- Head is locked in. Changing the head may cause very unpleasant issues with Astaria's fangs as they are designed specifically for this head. You'd also lose her bite marks. I used Elf Head 3 and customized the textures to add her bite marks.
- All other options are open to be changed. Just note that the hair will revert back in scenes, but the color you choose will stay.
- If you choose to randomize, it will change the head as well, but know that if you do this you may get a shock with her fangs.
I am working on modifying lines that you will hear when playing as Astaria, as well as grunts, etc., but this will take some time. I need to work on finding all the sound files. In the meantime, I suggest the following:
- Female Astarion Voice Conversion Hub. I use L myself and it seems to fit well with Astaria.
- Non-verbal spells
- If you change Astaria's skin, eye or hair colors, I've added custom swatches so you can always revert back.
- The hair color has been modified to make her eyebrows darker. Other colors are vanilla.
- Many times NPCs refer to Astaria as "boy" so just overlook that for now. I do intend to see if I can modify some of those lines, but again, I'm new to modding BG3 so this could take some time.
- If you use Appearance Edit Enhanced Origins, Astaria must be loaded AFTER. You really don't need it though unless you want to modify your other companions.
- Less Wrinkled Expression and Forehead for Face - Astaria uses vanilla wrinkle maps, so if you find her wrinkles too harsh, this mod will help.
- Half-Illithid Facial and Body Veins Retexture - You can see this mod in the screenshot of Astaria standing in front of Cazador's coffin.
- Illithid Eye Effect Remover
- Huge thanks to lilithiraa for Minharpy Hair and open permissions which allowed me to include it.
