There's just something very endearing about having a Class with a Farmer subclass, very cool.

Is there any plan of expanding this class to 20 levels? I know the odds of that are small given LaserLlama's source material also stops giving the class features past level 12. It'd be cool to have a full 20 levels of normalcy through being a Commoner though.

    • Level 10: Outside of combat, you can replicate the effects of Wall of Stone, though these walls are nonmagical and permanent.
    DWARF FORTRESS INCOMING HELL YES.

Never knew I wanted this. Thank you!

Sure. In general I'm fairly permissive with my permissions: you can rework and reupload my mods, copy and use bits of my code, so long as

      • I'm credited somewhere reasonable (linking here in the description, as you've done, is fine)
      • you respect the rights of any content I'm reusing
      • your content isn't behind a paywall.

In this case, I'd also give LaserLlama a quick shout and link, since his work was what the original mod used as basis. Otherwise, feel free to take my stuff and do as you will.

The “Common No More” trait is supposed to give a free level in any class.

I'm quite certain that this is impossible to do in BG3.

Where is a mod like this but offers no bonuses except health and maybe feats?

I do know a few. The Wretch is a barebones, nothing-but-health class. I don't know if they go to 20 (though in their case, I don't think it would change much if they could).

Mod.io has a few other Commoner classes, one of which being this one by Flare76. That one is a more traditional challenge class than this, and I believe it does go to 20.

I'd love to add this to my modlist, would you perhaps add level 20 progression in the future?

I find this a bit of a tricky thing to think about. In the homebrew this uses as base, at level 11 you effectively graduate out of the Commoner class. No such thing as an epic-level Commoner, basically. This doesn't translate as well to BG3, but with the game ending at level 12, we can kind of hedge things.

But if we do go further and try to make something new, it takes me to an odd place. High-level features are usually powerful and game-impacting. Commoner features should be weak but have a bit of flavour. So what should go there? I don't think it's an impossible needle to thread, but I don't think I'd just want to, say, just buff your Grit Dice, abilities or damage. After all, just growing in power as enemies stay static isn't really what the Commoner's about.

So, maybe some day, and I wouldn't object if anyone made their own extension. But probably not in any immediate future. The Commoner's road ends at level 12 for now.

    CC icons in the future?

No timeframe for when/if they'll be added, but it is something I'd like to get around to. I know it's a tad distracting to just have the blank space in CC, but at some point I would like to add something handcrafted there (whether by me or someone else).

(EDIT: The class now has icons.)

As far as the Commoner goes: probably not. High-level Commoner features are... odd to think about.

I just ran a small test with the new update, my AC is working as expected now, and the class icons are a nice touch. Thank you very much.

This very well could be my favorite class mod. The idea of some random bumpkin getting abducted and later fighting off avatars of gods is the best kind of ridiculous. I know the class isn't meant to get feats, only ASIs, but I'm really glad that they get feats here, it means I can turn the subclasses into Temu versions of the official classes.
