Goodberries are now good.

The spell goodberry in vanilla Baldur’s Gate 3 is a misnomer. It’s not a good berry, it’s a mediocre berry at best. Using one spell slot to barely get any healing whatsoever. Perhaps they should have called it a medium berry, and maybe one day they will, but until then, I am bound by an imaginary honor to do justice to the name good berry.

Goodberry Easy Version

-Usage of goodberry now provides 5 goodberries instead of four.
-Consumption of one goodberry now heals for (2d6+3)

Goodberry Moderate Version

-Usage of goodberry now provides 5 goodberries instead of four.
-Consumption of goodberry now heals for (1d6+3)

Goodberry Moderate Version

-Usage of goodberry now provides 5 goodberries instead of four.
-Consumption of goodberry now heals for (1d4+3)

How To Install

  • I recommend using a mod manager for this step. Import the pak file into your mod manager and export the load order to your game (at the moment the load order does not matter).
  • You might receive warnings from Larian Studios launcher about the file order not being supported, as far as I have seen, these are safe to ignore, the game works fine. (If you've installed other mods you may have run into this issue before).
  • When you load a saved game, you might get another warning message about the game not being able to build a story. This message is also safe to ignore as far as I have tested. I may have overlooked something so please use this and any other mod at your own risk. Always keep a backup of your gamefiles handy for situations like this.

Special Thanks

-BG3 Modders Multitool (For index searching)
-LSLib (for packaging, and conversion support)
-5eSpells (no files from this mod were used but I did use this mod as an example to help teach me how to modify and implement item/spell descriptions.)

NOTE: At the moment modding is not supported. Modding might be easier in the future, that being said, I might not update this mod frequently. I will be keeping track of comments if there are any and if time permits, will look into creating versions that implement any suggestions provided.
