About this mod

The Mod seeks to offer a re-balance of the 6 equippable items in the game that set an ability score to a set value, by replacing these effects with relative increases.
The changes ultimately make the items a little weaker than originally, but retains their value for characters already invested into a given stat.

ThisMod is fairly simple and straightforward, as mentioned it changes the stat boosting items found in the game to give relative +X bonuses instead of setting the stat at a fixed value. ITRMM on Nexusmods implement the original mod with me, after updating the mod I still owe him many thanks.

In terms of Rationale I can mostly say I tried to keep the items rarity, time of acquisition and purpose in mind, but also followed the original design language as I saw it. So previously uneven boosts stay uneven, the original value became the maximum.

Below the Items listed with the new stats, as they would show up in game.

  • Warped Headband of Intellect       -    Limited Genius: Increases your Intelligence score by 3, up to a maximum of 17.

  • Club of Hill Giant Strength     -    Splinters of Giant Might: Increases your Strength score by 3, up to a maximum of 19.

  • Gloves of Dexterity                         -    Brawling Hands: Increases your Dexterity Score by 4, up to a maximum of 18.
Additionally grants +1 to Attack Rolls.

  • Handmaiden's Mace                      -    Handmaiden's Gift: Increases your Strength Score by 4, up to a maximum of 18.
           +2, +1d6 Poision

  • Amulet of Greater Health               -   Boundless Vigor: Increases your Constitution score by 5, up to a maximum of 23.
You also gain Adavantage on Constitution Saving Throws.

  • Gauntlets of Frost Giant Strength -   Frost Giant's Strength: Increases your Strength score by 5, up to a maximum of 23.
Additionally grants +1 to Strength Saving Throws.

Install with the BG3 Mod Manager, load order shouldn't matter, the mod should always work, but I can't guarantee that it wouldn't conflict with other mods that edit items in general, or these particular items specifically.

Hope you find this mod interesting and or useful for you playthrough, feel free to ask if you have any questions. And lastly thank you Larian for this amazing game and the wonderful people that have already created so many great mods for it!
