After a couple of hours of playing with this build, It handled multiclass fine. Sometimes when I leveled up the feat option wouldn't show, (I am running ALOT of feat mods) But if I choose another class the feat option would show and I was able to go back to this class and choose it. So worries there. Dual wield (Do Samurai dual wield?) along with 2 level dip into Paladin and I was destroying opponents. I personally like the unarmed attack option. A fighter should be able to throw a punch every once in a while.
I'm glad you're enjoying it! I really like the flavor of a Samurai/Paladin. Let me know if you have any issues with the Counter Attack Charges. Action Resources can be a real pain.
A: Yes, there shouldn't be any issues if you have both this and the Champion mod installed.
Q: I have a few other subclasses that are about 95% finished. Which one would you be the most interested in trying?
Winter Sovereign Warlock: Tank Warlock who excels at cold damage Path of Caustic Slaughter Barbarian: Acid damage themed Barbarian Circle of the Eco Warriors Druid: Gish Druid focused on enhancing simple weapons
I'm not into magic builds so probably the barbarian 1st, but I like running class mods if they aren't all about magic. Sounds like I can give them all a go.
If you have the requirements, load the mod near the end of the load order and see if that works. I have noticed in the past with some class mods they need to be lower in the load order for the game to see it.
The only other thing that I can think of is to put the Compatibility Framework mod at the end of the load order. That sometimes works for me when I'm having problems.
I agree that the one d&d fighter class is probably the issue. It might use a different progression UUID or something similar to that. Unfortunately, I don't have the skill at this point to make a compatible mod.
That's great news! I'm glad that it's finally working for you. I'm honestly surprised that it works with the one d&d fighter mod, but I'm not mad about it.
Wanted to give a personal opinion on the homebrewed subclass itself. I will clarify I have not yet downloaded this mod whilst writing this message but did review all of the subclass features. I have to say it is quite balanced indeed albeit I would personally have a few different features or reword things my way. All in All I playtested it on my players and they felt it was viable and usable so I hope you like the opinion of 1 DM and 8 players xD
Quick Edit before I forget: I cant mod to save my life but I would be honoured if you were willing to work with me to add my homebrew subclasses I made into the game
Feedback from a fellow DM is always appreciated. Thank you!
I would need to see your subclasses before I can commit to anything. I've only been modding for about two months, so I still have a ton to learn, but I'm always up for new challenges. Why don't you message me directly with either your favorite subclass, or the subclass that you'd think would make the most sense in BG3, and I'll be happy to review it.
I agree with u, samurai subclass it's boring, i will try ur Ronin right now. just one question: why unarmed attack? feels more themed an extra weapon attack (also with halved dmg if u want), for differentiate it from monk playstyle.
BUT it's just my opinion :) I'll do more feedback after i try the class
