Overall Notes - Paladin does not really have a pervasive element to the features in their items because the subclasses do not really share a unique role in the context of a party. All the paladin subclasses are a similar power level in the vanilla game and so I did not really attempt to give any subclass more than its fair share like I tried to do with valor bard.
Ancients (Ancient Sentinel Set) - This set is the one Paladin set focused around healing and supporting the paladin's allies through buffs. Most of the features of this item set focuses around on providing some benefit to the paladin's allies. There is also a pervasive flavor of a warden type character protecting life and nature through light.
Conquest (Dominator Set) - One of the only "evil" paladin oaths, this paladin subclass takes on an idea of a slow, yet overwhelming force coming to conquer and subjugate through sheer power and terror. Many of the features of this subclass are flavoured around doing damage and frightening and intimidating your target.
Devotion (Guardian Set) - The quintessential good guy set, this set is centred around making the paladin a solid pillar of good in the party. This is achieved by making the paladin defensively sturdy and increasing the power of the paladin against the sworn enemies of good. There is a side-theme around being good with a shield because sword & board is a very "knight in shining armor" type aesthetic that I attempted to capture with this set.
Vengeance (Retributor Set) - Vengeance stands out from its vanilla counterparts, devotion and ancients, by gearing itself towards being offensive over defensive and being selfish over being selfless. The features of this item set all focus on ways to get to the enemy faster and, when you get there, killing them faster.
