Overall Notes - Bard is a very versatile class so designing items for this class could prove challenging at times as the class could do so much. Ultimately I tried to lean into what each subclass was trying to excel at and if I was not sure I tried to instead lean into something I either had not done or that felt generally fitting to the class's name or description.
Eloquence (Aristocrat Set) - This was one of the more difficult sets for me to design. In the end I went with a set that plays songs to buff the entire party. These songs cost a bardic performance charge to cast and will scale with your Charisma. There were some troubles with a couple features such as Inspire Defense where I could not provide a scaling Armour Class bonus based on the Charisma bonus so I instead created a buff that gave Armour Class based on the quantity of turns the buff had remaining and made the turns given scale on Charisma. This could prove overpowered though so I am keeping an eye on it.
Lore (Minstrel Set) - This is a subclass of bard that largely focuses on spell casting and being a skill monkey. I am a little unsure on how I feel about this set because items that just improve skills can feel a bit disappointing to grab. I am considering adding more features onto this set to further its spell casting capabilities.
Swords (Duellist Set) - Swords bard is already a strong and well-supported archetype in the context of items in the game and its features. Because of this I went a different avenue with this subclass and tried to really focus on flavor. I created a set that largely focused on a duellist flavor that would wield a weapon in only one hand and nothing in the other and would weave, parry and riposte its enemies.
Valor (Heroic Verse Set) - Valor bard is one of the weaker subclasses in the vanilla game. I sought to lean into its more supportive elements by creating items that provide buffs to allies impacted by Bardic Inspiration (and Combat Inspiration for the much more powerful buffs).
