Anyone figure out how to get this working with the gamepass version? It throws an administrator access error at me trying to pick the Avowed exe even if I run reshade as administrator.
UPDATE: as a shorcut for anyone searching this now or in the future: since we can now install the games where we want, once done: locate the gamelaunchhelper.exe (usually one folder up from the original exe) and select that with the reshade installer, then it shoud work
Works great. To confirm yours is working, set the Toggle Effect key to something like PgUp then compare. This mod makes things brigher and much clearer!
Because I couldn´t stand the performance loss: I changed the colours and brightness over the Graphics-Card Driver to fit my likes with good results, but without FPS loss :-)
I really like this reshade, but is there any way you could make it slightly less bright or incorporate some of the darker nights/higher contrast seen in this reshade preset? If I could just blend these two presets together somehow it would be perfect lmao. Your preset is much closer to ideal. I really like the dark nights from the other one but theirs is also way too blue. I tried adjusting your ultra+ preset manually by adding prod80_03_shadows_midtones_highlights effect and slightly bumping shadow contrast and slightly reducing shadow exposure, plus slightly reducing highlights exposure, which i think looks pretty nice. I also decreased the sharpening intensity in your preset but I'm still testing that
Yes! I usually do night versions or recommended night settings for my presets. I just play through games slowly and I haven't really seen much night yet - I'll go to camp today and tune some settings. I have more tuned settings in general to upload later today as well.
Awesome, I'll try the updated preset soon. Do you think the RadiantGI effect makes a signficant visual difference? That's the effect that causes the framerate hit for some users
So I saw that I had that one checked "on" in my preset last night and thought I had just recently turned it on by mistake. Reshade seems to have a few default keybinds and I sometimes hit them - though I've really only had it happen with the MartyDoF (or something like that) shader, which is of course super noticeable when it's on. But as you've noted, RadiantGI has very little use for this game and my preset.
Good news for those with FPS issues. I will make sure both preset versions have it off. And FWIW neither are the "night" version I mentioned; I still need to do that.
Check back later today* if you're still interested in a night-focused version. A bit delayed due to trips and illness, but it's basically done. Just needs a final tuning.
*okay it ended up being a few days, it's there now though
Does your framerate go up by 35fps when you open up the reshade GUI and disable the effects? Or do you have to uninstall reshade entirely to get the frames back?
The culprit is the 'radiantGI' effect in this reshade. I see about 15fps lost as soon as its activated. +15 fps as soon as its deactivated. Is there any way to achieve a similar effect without the frame hit? Or does it make much of a visual difference in the first place? I haven't had the chance to test it without that effect much yet. I'm on an i5-12600k, 4060 Ti, frame gen enabled
It looks like the instructions you provided were from Sparking Zero? Is it the same instructions to install on this game? I've never used Reshade before, but I would like to use this Mod if you could please provide step A through Z on how to use this mod?

Swapping the AMD sharpening tool for DELC_sharpen or AdaptiveSharpen may save 2 to 4 fps and still look pretty good.
