It replaces icons and skins of some of the animals and Zoo sets, and more.

With this mod I'm trying to correct most eye-poking mistakes and gaffes the developers made with animals’ images, models, Zoo sets' icons etc.
The mod is modular – there is a basic mod and 3 optional ones (two of them also have 2 variants).

Animals’ mod – Basic:

Basic mod includes:

1. Condor - new icon and 3D model skin to replace default vulture icon and skin:

2. Bird-of-Paradise – new icon.

I took a liberty to adjust Bird-of-paradise icon's colors to somewhat match the colors of the model the devs created for it (although anyone with some knowledge can see it's a parrot and not a bird of paradise, but unfortunately as of now it’s not possible to edit shapes of 3D models). It's a fictional universe after all, maybe their birds of paradise have different colors... ;)

3. Sperm Whale - new icon.

(Sperm whale model in the game is fine, unlike its icon, which is a whale shark instead of the actual whale).

4. Extinct Species Set – different icon and slightly changed Giant Deer skin.

Default icon of Extinct Species Set is Okapi, which is not even in the game, but most importantly, in the real world this animal is critically endangered, but NOT extinct!
I replaced Okapi’s icon with the icon of the animal which is included in the set.
Giant deer (Irish elk) model now has light stripes on its back to give it more “prehistoric” look and as homage to the way this animal is depicted in Far Cry Primal.

This is how Basic mod looks in the game:

Animals’ mod – Rainforest Set:

The animal that the devs chose to represent Rainforest set is Parrot (Scarlet macaw), which is not even included in the set.
You can choose between two variants of Rainforest mod:

A. The icon of the set is changed from the Parrot to Iguaca (Puerto-Rican amazon, which IS included in Rainforest set).
B. The Parrot is included in the set in place of the Pelican (which is far from being the animal that represents rain forest habitat; none of its species actually lives in the Amazonian jungle, unlike the Scarlet macaw which inhabits the very heart of it). I also increased the attractiveness value of the Parrot from 20 to 30 (without changing its rareness category) to compensate for the swap, so that Rainforest set as a whole will give the same attractiveness boost.

Note: You can activate both variants of the Rainforest mod at the same time, they will work, just if you use the 2nd variant, changing the icon with the 1st variant is unnecessary.

Animals’ mod – Mathilde the Parrot:

In the game Mathilde (unique quest reward) has the same icon as Iguaca (Puerto-Rican amazon), and after you place her in the Zoo, her aviary is just filled with a bunch of random parrots from every parrot species which exists in the game, even ones you don’t have among your items. This random bunch might not even include Iguaca, the species Mathilde is supposed to belong.
I created unique icon and skin exclusively for Mathilde (Hyacinth macaw), and she will ALLWAYS appear in her cage:

You can choose between two variants of Mathilde mod:

A. Mathilde is the ONLY bird in her cage; other random parrots don’t spawn there.
B. You can keep other parrots in to give Mathilde some company. ;) Again, it will be a bunch of random parrots, some of which you might not yet have in your collection.

Important Note: You can’t activate both variants at the same time, you must choose ONE!

Animals’ mod – Smaller Fennec Foxes:

The developers didn't bother to create a separate 3D model for the Fennec Fox, they simply used the model of the regular red fox, so fennec's body proportions and size are way off:

real world red fox vs fennec fox

Unfortunately for now it's not possible to change the model, but I can make it smaller so at least fennec's size will reflect the reality:

* If you already have Fennec fox in your Zoo, after installing the mod you should replace it with another animal and put it back to see the changes.

Huge thanks to Ghostfire, the creator of awesome and must-have Nature Ornaments Mod. Without his inspiration and generous help I couldn't make my first mod.
Enormous gratitude to Taubenangriff, one of the main contributors to “Spice it up” mega-meta-mod. I can’t believe how much of his time he gave me to both patiently explain basic things and participate in solving issues that were challenging even for his unmatched knowledge in Anno modding…
Also, big thanks to kskudlik (other major contributor to “Spice it up” mod and the author of AI Shipyard mod, one of the coolest mods ever created) and all awesome modding community as a whole, for their inspirational work, openness, readiness to help and answer any question!

Thank you for your attention, I hope you'll enjoy my mod. :)
