Is it possible to have a variant that only removes the little dot when you look at characters or interactive objects? This one is super annoying and even the HUD remover doesn't remove it.
Hey there! First I wanted to give huge ups for this mod. I'm doing some recordings and this has been great for getting the HUD out of the way.
What I was wanting to ask about; I'm wanting to do some recording of the survivor mode levels as well, also without the hud, but unfortunately this mod (and all others I've tried, including Cinematic Tools) doesn't remove the tasks and timer UI for survivor mode. I'm assuming it's stored in a different file from WEAPONSTUFF.GFX
Personally, I'm having huge difficulty with trying to dabble in modding myself; I'm finding myself stumped after unpacking the UI.PAK; can't seem to find any editor or converter that will work with the .GFX files; what comes up in Notepad++ is unworkable mush. So long after the fact I know it's a big ask, but I was wondering if you - who have managed to work with these files before - might have any ideas for this? It would be so massively appreciated. If not, fully understood.
The easiest way would be to use 3Dmigoto and just toggle the shaders off, but it's going to affect the motion tracker and ingame screens aswell. So when you toggle the HUD off, the UI for those screens will also be toggled off. I can do that if you want.
Okay! This is incredible, but I actually figured it out!
Right after commenting this, I decided to try a hail mary, and it worked! I'll doccument it here in case, some time in the future, even one person comes looking for the same solution.
Using OpenCAGE (The Open Source Alien Isolation Modding tool; there are other things with the same name that come up first if you google search just the name), I used the "Game Asset Editor" -> "UI Import/Export" to directly access UI.PAK without having to extract it -> drilled down into the file tree and deleted CHALLENGELEADERBOARDCOMPONENT.GFX and CHALLENGEMAPOVERLAY.GFX.
The game loads fine, loads the challenge maps just fine too, and in conjunction with all the rest of the UI being removed by your own tweaks, it completely removes all hud from the survivor mode maps! One minor downside is that there's now no UI once you complete the map, but that's basically no issue considering anyone who wants this change likely wants it to record footage and that's it; completing the level is unneccesary.
This is fantastic, I'm so thrilled. Thanks again for the mod itself and for replying back with an idea. Maybe if you do a new version you might want to include this info in the readme for anyone that wants it, or even incorporate the change itself as an optional file.
I've tried all these different suggestions to remove the hud but unfortunately none of them work completely. I would still really love to get this working in VR if anyone can help. I'm playing survivor mode, and I just need to know how to disable the hud in the upper left and right corners of the screen. Top left is like a timer, and the top right are the objectives I believe. If someone can tell me what files to delete using OpenCage it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! Thanks if you can help!
There could be two reasons, either it's because of the integrated GPU in which case I can't do anything. Or it could be the EGS overlay causing the issue, try disabling that if possible.
Thanks for the mod! I saw another user state that it didn't work for him, however, and It's not working for me either. I've got a pretty good amount of experience modding and placed it in the correct folder, and overwrote the original UI.PAK file in the DATA folder. I am using the mothervr mod, which I believe may use it's own HUD system. Do you think this could be the problem, making this mod and mothervr incompatible?
Appreciate the reply. I think that may be the case. I can try removing the mothervr dll and see if it works then, so you can know if it is incompatible with vr. I'll let you know.
Hey I love you mod ! Idk id it is too late but I wanted to ask if it was possible to remove HUD when unlocking door (All the "press E" "Right click") with the toolbar for exemple ? I finished the game and they are quit easy to remember how to do it. Anyway thank you again for this mod.
You can try this, it's a shader toggle which means you can toggle it off with a hotkey. It will toggle the HUD and button prompts but not the crosshair.
Hey man, thank you for taking the time to make this mod. I'd love to use it but it seems to not be working. Followed the instructions as per the readme. Has a game update broke the mod or is this a problem on my end? Thanks for your time.
Would it be possible to create a version that keeps both the crosshair and healthbar? I ask about the healthbar, because there doesn't seem to be any other way of figuring out how close to death I am.. or maybe finding a way to show it in the radial menu?

I included a Readme with instructions.

After installing other mods the problem was fixed.
Thanks, excellent mod otherwise :)
