DLL is signed emoose, did he worked on it or you built it based on his work ?
Thanks the game needed his prerendered videos fixed, i use only 11 of them btw: CUTSCENE_01.usm CUTSCENE_08_09_10.usm CUTSCENE_11.usm CUTSCENE_12.usm CUTSCENE_15.usm CUTSCENE_20.usm CUTSCENE_25.usm CUTSCENE_29.usm CUTSCENE_45.usm CUTSCENE_FINALSCENE.usm M14_SCENE07.usm
I skip the one with recorded video on monitor bc i think it's too clean, for the others it's just main menu...
I don't have access to that version, but I believe it should. Let us know how you go if you try it. Installation instruction is the same for all platforms.
Been playing with it a bit, and now that it’s fixed, it looks totally awesome ! The vanilla one were so blurry and choppy. I know it’s a know issue, but I still have to ask : Is it possible to enable subtitles in anyway, maybe at the expense of quality ? I’m a bit hard of hearing and miss them on technical words.
Still, thank you so much for this mod, it’s a gamechanger !
Hello, friends, First of all, thank you for the incredible work of the modders. I have to tell you that I'm desperate with this jerky cinematic story on Alien Iso. This mod doesn't seem to work for me, the scenes are always jerky, it's hell. Do you have any tips, maybe something I did wrong?
For the best performance use the 2.2 compatability version and install on your fastest drive. Check any performance settings in windows and your graphics card are optimised for performance rather than power saving etc. I have noticed that some play better than others as well.
The cutscenes have always been “choppy”, but the upscales are more demanding. It’s older, less efficient technology and there isn’t a workaround I am aware of. (Comparing the playback in Windows is much smoother than in game).
Hope that helps! If anyone else has found a way to improve performance do let me know !
Hi there! I've been having a problem with both versions of the cutscenes. The x264 version stutters really badly even though I have the game installed on a gen4 NVME SSD, but the menu is fine. Version 2.2 only shows a black screen for the opening cutscenes and the menu. I thought maybe it was the additional mods that I use so I used a clean install of the game, installed the movie fix and Version but had the same issue. Same with version 2.2. My best guess is there must be something about my system but I'm really unsure what it could be.
Installed the v3 version, including the xinput1_3.dll, first cutscene I saw was meeting with Axel, and the cutscene ran very poorly, hitching every second or so. Next cutscene was Axel getting grabbed, and that one was just a straight blank black screen that I had to skip. Only "cutscene" that seems to work properly is the main menu.
It also doesn't have all the work you put in fixing artifacts and whatnot. I'd rather have compressy 1080p30 than artifacty AI upscaled 4K60. I like the work you did making sure there isn't as much motion artifacting and would rather have vanilla than not that.
The upscale, clean up, frame comparison and interpolation is exactly the same between the 2.2 regular version and v3 x264, the only difference is the encoding at the last step. If you can share specifics so I know what to look for I'm happy to investigate. As for cutscenes playing out of order the video names are the same so the only way an incorrect cutscene would play is if it was renamed.
Make sure the game is installed on the fastest drive available, ssd or nvme, as they are much more resource hungry than the 1080 vanilla version.
So I've been kind of busy and haven't had the time to continue A:I but I now got to my first cutscene with the x264 version and it was when you go inside the apollo core but it was just black and the video didn't play. I changed to the compatability version and the video played normally.
It is a known issue for some - wmg317 included. Haven't been able to figure out why. You could try doing a clean reinstall of the movie fix patch, deleting the game exe, dll and log files, and reverifying. But that is also the reason why I kept the regular version :)

UPDATE (April 28) all subtitles and language tracks now restored in both versions.
Thanks for the kind comments :)

I just tried the mod, and I sadly have the exact same issue.
Thanks
I'll just stick with the 1080p30 cutscenes.

Also have you tried the 2.2 version?

Using latest version + extra file needed for that
