Hi everyone,

Thanks to all who raised bug reports for non English subtitle issues.

I have finished the next version and want your feedback on how the next release should be structured.

To show non English subs I need to create seperate versions for each language. Therefore, I was thinking of structuring the next  version a little differently to make it easier to download.

There are 5 cutscenes without speech, 9 with. Therefore I was thinking of these options

  • CURRENT: all langauages in single file but only has English subs: 2 versions (mpeg and 264).

AND/OR

  • each language in their own single file: 2 versions (mpeg and 264)

OR

  • 1 file for non-dialog scenes (which can be used by all languages)
+ 1 file for each language dialog scenes.
2 versions each (mpeg and 264)

E.G To download

1. MPEG
  • Non Dialog cutscenes
    +
  • One of the language options

264
  • Non Dialog cutscenes
    +
  • One of the language options

Eg: to download the mod, you need to download 2 files for whatever option you want. But they can also mix and match

Clear as mud?

Thoughts welcome! Once I get a sense of preference I will release the next version

Thanks

    Hello,

Can you let us know when the next release that fixes the non-English subtitles will be available?

Thank you for the work provided.

Each version of the language separately - this will be the best option.
    Good luck and thanks.

Include the non dialogue files, or keep them in a second file? Was thinking it would be less to download for someone wanting multiple language subs.

No need for multiple versions based on language, stumbled upon a solution to replicate the subtitle functionality from the original USMs which contain 1 "subtitle track" with identifiers which the game uses to add the actual subtitles of whatever language the game is in placed in separate text files.
