Due to how Compatibility between add-on plane mods, Additional Skin Slots (ASS) and Additional Emblem Slots (AES) relies on the same since_Localisation_AVDT_P.pak and since_SDT_Add-On_NON-ASS_P.pak / since_SDT_Add-On-ASS_P.pak to work, I decided to separate them from Compatibility add-on's page and gave it their own. The logs from now on will also list EACH and EVERY additions/changes/removals to localisation, AVDT and SDT.

Refer to each modpage's INSTALLATION steps. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

Some Qs and As:

  • "What does since_Localisation_AVDT_P.pak  actually do?"

AVDT, which stands for AircraftViewerDataTable does...not a whole lot if you're only using ASS or AES. Functionally, it serves to set up camera settings for hangar cameras for all the aircrafts. There are 6 AVDT rows for each plane, since there are 6 hangars in-game. The AVDT files included in the .PAK only adds new AVDT record for add-on planes but does not modify original ones.

Localisation meanwhile is really important. It is how these custom planes, new skin and emblem slots are able to have new custom names. What's included in the localisation files are strings, thousands of them, connected to either a plane's short name, or that new skin slot, or those new emblem slots. Anything in Ace Combat 7 that has a name or a description, be it a playable aircraft, non-playable aircraft, special weapons, skin slots, NPC names, its all controlled by localisation.

  • "What does since_SDT_Add-On_NON-ASS_P.pak / since_SDT_Add-On-ASS_P.pak  do?"

SDT stands for SkinDataTable. It's where the skin slot records reside, and also how the planes that ASS support are able to have 10 new skin slots. I made two version, since_SDT_Add-On_NON-ASS_P.pak and since_SDT_Add-On-ASS_P.pak. The reason why it is split in half is because, if, say, there's only one SDT .PAK which includes all the relevant records, you, as the player, even if you did not install ASS' main module, the new skin slots would still pop-up. Thus, for those that doesn't want to use ASS, you can use the non-ASS version of the SDT .PAK. Included in the SDT files are relevant skin slot records for add-on planes. Additionally, for the ASS version, there's 400+ new skin slot records for Additional Skin Slots.

  • "What will happen if I try to use any of the .PAKs here by itself?"

Well;
  • since_Localisation_AVDT_P.pak -> will do practically nothing, except for modifying F-104C -AV-'s description if you care about that.
  • since_SDT_Add-On_NON-ASS_P.pak -> will do nothing.
  • since_SDT_Add-On-ASS_P.pak -> being the ASS variant of the SDT .PAK, it will make the new skin slots pop-up, although without the main module, it won't work anyway.

  • "Conflicts?"

Localisation and SDT .PAK will conflict with any mods that add their own localisation and SDT files. So far, to my knowledge, mods that include them (other than this one), are add-ons (and model-swaps to a certain extent). Therefore, make sure these essential files overrides them. Put more tildes (~) at the front of the .PAKs' name.
