Frequently Asked Questions

Before you start asking questions about why the Patch's not working, or you want to report a bug that definitely did not occur due to the fault of the user, read the FAQs here first.

  • "None of the add-ons show up"

PlayerPlaneDataTable conflict. There's another mod inside your ~mods folder that is overriding my Compatibility Patch. Usually, it'll be a mod related to ammo changes. Remove said mod from your ~mods folder. Preferably, I'd suggest to sort your ~mods folder. You can follow this baseline to sort your ~mods folder.

  • "Certain add-ons aren't showing up / Special weapon for certain add-ons aren't showing up"

Certain add-ons require the ownership of DLC jets to use them. This is because add-ons in question was based off of a heavily modified model of DLC jets. For example, the ADFX-00 used ADF-01 Falken's model, a DLC jet. If these add-ons can be used without owning the DLC jets, Nexusmods may take the add-ons in question down, due to fear of being taken action by Project Aces or Bandai Namco. For the best usage of this patch and all add-ons, all DLC jets are required. TLDR; support the devs, buy the DLCs, future of Ace Combat gets brighter.

  • "I installed more than one of the add-ons, but only (EXAMPLE) add-on appears"

That (EXAMPLE) add-on is overriding my patch. Add more tildes (~) to my Compatibility Patch (Compatibility_Add-Ons-PPDT_P.pak) and my Essential Files (since_Localisation_AVDT_P.pak and since_SDT_Add-On_P.pak / since_SDT_Add-On-ASS_P.pak). Preferably, though, sorting your ~mods folder would be the better choice. Follow the baseline linked above.

  • "I updated the patch, but the updated add-ons aren't showing up"

Re-download my patch and the essential files. If issue still occurs, report as a bug. On my patch's modpage, not on the affected add-on's modpage. They're not the ones making the patch. Don't bother them.
Or, maybe, my patch's changelog has mentioned a new version supporting said new add-on, but that version itself isn't released yet. Double-check the file versions with the changelogs. And be patient.

  • "Certain add-ons have names like 'AircraftShort_Name_f16vx' / Certain add-ons use the plane model it's not supposed to / Going to the skin selector for add-ons will cause the game to stuck on skin selector since no skin options are present"

You didn't install my Essential Files.
Or, you did, but some of the issue still persists. Then you probably have yet to update the patch. Update it.

  • "Certain custom SPW's stats in-hangar doesn't show any changes even after equipping parts"

This is a known issue. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to fix it. Though, this issue is only UI-related, because in-game (in a mission), equipped parts do work as intended. To check which custom SPW is affected, check the Bugs section.

  • "Is this patch compatible with mods that change the ammo count (i.e., Enhanced Gunplay)?"

I may or may not make versions of the Compatibility patch that carries over ammo changes from mods such as Enhanced Gunplay and Skies Rebalanced, but, for now, if you want to carry over those ammo changes, you will need to do it yourself. I made a guide on editing the PlayerPlaneDataTable, so, if you're planning to edit it, you can check it out.

  • "New add-on just released. Can you patch them?"

If it's an add-on, then, yes, it will get patched (unless there's special circumstances). BE PATIENT.

  • "I want to use only certain add-ons. Is it possible?"

Yes, but it will require editing the PlayerPlaneDataTable file from my patch, which you can refer to this guide if you want to know how to do it.

  • "Can you convert (EXAMPLE) model-swap into an add-on?"

No. Unless the mod author permits the conversion, it's always a no. AND FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME, NO, I WILL NOT CONVERT FENRIR.

  • "Can you make (EXAMPLE) plane into an add-on?"

I don't make these Add-ons. Go commission
 someone.
