I "third" the ability to play in VR with keyboard and mouse. Only thing really keeping me from trying this because I only want to play 7DTD with kb/m as that's my preferred way. Hopefully they add it, would be amazing!
We might have to find a way since the demand is there. it might have to be an explicit option thanks to how we link head movement to the mouse currently. I'll add it to the Trello wishlist so we don't forget.
Right now the BIG project is left hand mode from Kaaliba and me adding new options menu and trying to add back in things we dropped or didn't have as options since we ran out of room on option menu #1... that is, in between games. Q1 2024 was survival release crazy and that is our kind of game ;)
I concur. I'm an admin and being able to use the keyboard with the VR would be a godsend. I love what was done so far and it has so much potential! Please continue to update this!
to be clear, the keyboard still works. If you need for admin reasons to type something in console you can. Our challenge for mouse & keyboard play is the mouse.
if it is just an occasional demand you can use the steam or virtual desktop keyboard too for console commands. I use those on occasion for our testing/debugging.
Just found out yesterday that this mod exists, tried it, love it. Not perfect but still works pretty great, lot of fun exploring the game world in VR, I also never noticed how good some of the zombies look till being face to face with them in VR.
Glad you are enjoying. We know it still has a lot more to improve but it lets us play this great game in VR. If you think the zombies are cool look at all the details on the weapon models or the notes on the chem station. The modelers are great!
Watch here in the next couple months. We hope to have another big release fixing some bugs, adding some big new features, and hopefully adding some vehicle comfort options since we have heard a lot of people that is the thing that keeps them from really enjoying.
Yeah the weapons look great in VR as does pretty much everything, not sure what vehicles people are having problems with, I have been riding around on a bicycle & recently a mini bike & have had no problems with them, even going off road they ride very smooth for me, I have never suffered from motion sickness in VR though so maybe it only affects people who suffer from that.
The bike is worst. On smooth roads it is ok but take one ride across a corn field and all those bumps and you can see where people who are more sensitive to cyber sickness can be impacted. Each vehicle is smoother so thus gets better so if you are through the bike days you have it made. The Gyro is AWESOME in VR
No. Actualmente no es una configuración y, según nuestras primeras pruebas, no parecía hacer nada en realidad virtual... no es que no pudiéramos haberlo hecho mal. ¿Hay algún problema o error que estás intentando corregir que te hace preguntar?
Q: Does anyone know if I can change the FOV (field of View)? A: No. not currently a setting and from our early testing it didn't seem to do anything in VR... not that we couldn't have done it wrong. Is there something wrong or an error you are trying to correct that makes you ask?
English translation: Q: The list of compatible mods includes the VRoid Mod. But I have a problem. My model constantly jumps from the default player pose, like in the flat version, to the position I'm in using my controllers and back again. This turns into a terrible ripple that can give you an epileptic attack. In the flat version, everything works as it should, but as soon as you activate Virtual Reality, this light and music begins.
A: We did support VRoid at the end of last year. They have done an update since our last release and we are just learning that broke compatibility. if you are able to get an old copy of VRoid (VRoid Mod v2.1.4-3501-2-1-4-1697392573) it works otherwise apologies but it will not work until we update.
Thanks for the note so I update the compatibility note
I did every possible thing I could think of and what the internet research suggested, but I cannot seem to raise my FPS in the game.. its very laggy and poor FPS, even when playing on an RTX 3060... I think Steam VR may be the reason.. but does anyone have any suggestions? I really want to play this in VR
We can try to help with some tips and tricks, but even vanilla flat screen this game can struggle in certain times and circumstances. If you are somebody who will get sick if things drop below 120FPS @ 120hz, this is going to be a tough sell for you. We have a whole "performance tweaks" thread in the 7dVR support forums. almost all of them are YMMV since systems vary so widely, but here are a few of the biggest:
1. play on a dedicated server (even if on the same machine, different is better still) 2. add the following lines to your 7d2d/7daystodie_data/boot.config file: gfx-enable-gfx-jobs=1 gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1 3. IF you are on wireless, most people find Virtual Desktop > Steamlink > Airlink... but that can vary too. don't be afraid to try the others
if all else fails hop in to the discord and we'll see about trying to help you get the best possible expeirence

English reply for those it helps (going to try to remember to do this in the future): Question: Will I be able to continue playing with friends who don't have a VR headset? Answer: yes, you can play with your flat screen friends on any server that does not use EAC (easy anti cheat). They do not need this mod installed, you will just look like any other PC player to them. If they do install the mod, then they get to enjoy you pointing at things and waving your arms!
Hey, this mod is amazing, played with my brother for a couple of hours with the Quest 3.
But sadly we ran into a massive problem, in the game we currently play the zombies just dont see me, it is like i am invisible to them. They react to sound that i make but they just walk up to me and stay infront of me and do nothing, sometimes they try to hit me but with a massive delay or they just hit the air. They react to my brother, charge him and attack him while i can just stay there like i am one of them.
The funny part is when i start the exact same server without VR the zombies behave normal and will see me.
This looks super fun smooth turning in a headset is 90% of the immersion anyways so a few hiccups dont sound too bad. Just need to hype myself up to actually install/troubleshoot the thing. ( and sneak it on my buddies pc so I can mess with him)

Hi there! First of all, thank you for making this. It's my favorite thing! I know you're working on scopes/sights for the guns eventually so I'm not asking about that specifically. The vanilla game has bullet spread built in to aiming for realism/difficulty purposes assuming one plays flat screen. With VR, there's an inherent challenge to aiming because, well, you're actually aiming. My question is this: Is it possible to disable the bullet drift? It's tricky enough as is to aim in VR, and when you add the built-in drift, it's downright frustrating. The way I see it, it should be one or the other. I'm guessing what I'm asking has more to do with changing a configuration setting with the vanilla game files than it does with this mod. Just figured I'd ask if you have any guidance here. And again, thank you!
Yes. We are intentionally keeping the VR mod as vanilla as possible so it can stay client side only, and so it doesn't get seen as a "cheat" mod. That said, you are 100% spot on in that VR adds some of that randomness on it's own so there are other server modlets that can enhance the VR experience like that one. https://www.nexusmods.com/7daystodie/mods/3363
We also highly recommend the mod that tweaks zombie reach to be the same as yours if you are going to have any hope of playing a brawler and using physical melee! https://www.nexusmods.com/7daystodie/mods/3138/

It is in the testing code right now. :)
