Anyone figure this out? I'm still having the same issue and Steam creates its own folder.

Hello. Thank you for creating this tool, however I have a problem. I need to merge some texture mods, because I get infinite loading screen. Problem is, when cooking files, it won't import w2mesh.

Example: mod "Lore Friendly Ciri" has a file in \characters\models\main_npc\ciri_young\h_01_cwa__ciri_young - c_05_cwa__ciri_young.w2mesh.

I cook the mod and then uncook it again to check, and all w2mesh files are missing.

Or mod that modifies Gryffin armor consits only of w2mesh files, so it's not working at all. How do I import or cook w2mesh? Thanks.

I just used v1.06 and still it does not get the GOG directory, so i copied the game on desktop and it got it, did all the rest too, but when the uncoocking stops i check the uncoocked folder, i see that there are missing alot of files and that the uncoocked folder is only 231 MB!
    Please help, what went wrong?
    Edit:
Sorry to say that, i used ModKitchen and it uncooked 47.3 GB, i don't know your programing but i really wish you will find out what it is and fix it. :)

um...thanks for the endorsement I guess...

Could you possibly post the uncook command that the Mod Kit Gui generated?

I am pretty sure I found the issue you were having. You clicked on the "Ignore errors" button didn't you? I was doing some other stuff and noticed the issue. It has been resolved.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the frustration this must have caused. Testing the unpacking for every option would have taken an entire day and I got lazy and did not check them all. I still have not tested every option, but I am certain the issue is not moot.

Yeah, now that i remember it was activated when i first run the utility and left it as default.
Its ok, no worries, when you find it and fix it, all will be ok. ;)

Someone asked for a tutorial on how to use the Mod Kit GUI. You can find it here if you are interested:

    http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3177409-help-mod-kit-please/.

I will package it up with the next release of the tool.

Big update everyone! I managed to make things simpler and a lot more user friendly. I now also have text boxes for every command so if the command malfunctions for some reason you can examine it. I also included more buttons! we can now look at the logs easily and open the directories. There are other minor changes and bug fixes. I think I have most of them hammered out, but just hope I did not create new ones in the process!

Tomorrow both on this board and on the official Witcher form I am going to make a tutorial on this program and everything else I have learned. No secret will go unrevealed!

    (Hint: I found Ciri's joints!)

    Matty

Please report any bugs or problems you are having.

PROGRESS!!!!Importing Models Works! I am using Maya 2016. These are the settings needed. Embed Media and FBX file Format:Binary version FBX 2014/2015.

Still no luck with images though. Model appears grey. I will keep working on it though. :-)

Pick of progress posted. I was working on a model of Ciri with no bra :-/

Unfortunately, the animation gets busted in the process...

I did support this GUI... but then it started to spit errors at me about a file being in a location that doesn't exist anymore??

Sorry about the errors. I think I might have found them.

Try ver 1.05 and let me know if it does not work.

      Thanks Matt

Well it now loads up.. but I cannot uncook my files. I also find it weird that you can't use folders that have spaces in them for all the options... and even when I select all the correct folders it doesn't work?

The spaces are not my fault. It the the MOD KIT Tools. If it sees a space it assumes that that is the end of that directory and then reports an error because it cant understand what you want. Double quotes do not work either

      call wcc_lite uncook -indir="C:\C\Witch 3\content\" -outdir=C:\b\ -imgfmt=tga.

      Gives you:
[2015.08.24 21:22:52][Error][WCC] No output directory has been specified!

You can use one quote if it is at the end of the command though. If you are like many people and have your game installed at C:\gog\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\ like many people do the only way I could solve the uncook issue was to have the command look like this.

      call wcc_lite uncook -outdir=C:\b\ -imgfmt=tga -indir="C:\C\Witch 3\content\

This works fine. I did not allow spaces anywhere else in the program, because having 20 different combinations of this solution would have made the program muddy. Especially since it only allows you to account for one space per command.

What makes me really mad is that CD Prodjekt Red knew about this problem and did not take 2 minutes out of their day to fix it or even warn us...Especially since the default directory is C:\gog\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\

Well I've used spaces with my batch files and it works fine...

I can't export any files either... it's not just your GUI though it happens with ModKitchen as well.

Here's an example of my batch file,

      wcc_lite.exe uncook -indir="F:\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\content" -outdir="D:\The Witcher 3\Unpack\Uncooked" -imgfmt=tga

For some reason i cannot uncook anything if I have the ".exe" i have to write "call wcc_lite" with the following example.

      call wcc_lite uncook -indir="F:\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\content" -outdir="D:\The Witcher 3\Unpack\Uncooked" -imgfmt=tga

It is a little annoying that the functions are different for everything you need to do, like all the other options such as export work with either "call wcc_lite" or wcc_lite.exe"... it just seems to be a CDPR weird issue. Or simply an issue that I have for some reason idk.

I'm not a programmer but if you would like to PM me about this that would be great as i'd love to help you fix these weird things because your GUI could be amazing

Thank you so much. I have a lot of ideas for this program and it is killing me that nothing seems to work. I'm not just talking about being a GUI for the "The Official Mud Kit" either. I want to incorporate tools that would help modders meet the requirements for the Witcher 3 game system.

For instance, what is a "item_08_wa__ciri.w2mesh" ? its an item for ciri, but really a built in database telling us what it is would be nice.

Also I have been looking at the models. The animations are not build into the characters, the characters have reference nodes that tell the game what is where so animation can be done. I would love to incorporate a skeleton per say that would allow modders to make reference points on their models (and those cool shirts from The Witcher 2) for seamless integration. but it appears that these mod tools do not work. If they did I imagine there would be at least 100 new items for us on the nexus already.

Until we get the tools to work though or god forbid get assistance from the creators we are kind of stuck.

I am 99% certain that what we got is a crippled version of what they used. If you look at the logs you will notice it mentions:

[2015.08.24 15:44:23][Info][Engine] Shutting down the red gui manager

!!!! I am sooooo mad right now....

You seem to be missing the trailing " on directory names, at least when trying to unbundle. It no longer appears to provide the commandline arguments any more, which was quite useful.
