Hey, not sure if you're still checking up on this but I'm going to ask anyway, is it possible for one to change the damage perameters of the added weapons in the files? Say I wanted to increase the flamers crew damage by a point or two since I've got bloody high iron?
Also love the premis of the mod and the changes so far, very happy with more specialised weapons, Speaking of, should you happen to be looking back on this mod and feel so inclined, a suggestion for a crew killing weapon, inline with flamers still being capable of doing a metric bitchload of damage to ship should it hit the fuel or powder supplies, A carronade firing grapeshot should work wonders for turning the crew into either mincemeat or a fine mist, while dealing only moderate-low damage to the hull, most of the hardier zee beasts would be rather untroubled by such a weapon were it only fireing grapeshot. Something akin to the 68 pounder carronades mounted on the Victory at Trafalgar is what springs to mind.
It's still very difficult to kill the crew on most ships without destroying them, even with only the Conflagration dealing damage once they're at 50% hull. With Iron in the low 80's, it's a 50/50 shot. Much higher and it quickly grows unlikely, and then impossible.
Any chance you could make a version that does zero hull? I think it'd still do some based on iron, so also maybe increase Crew damage to 10 or so? That would be much more in line with what I'd like to see, and most of the ships worth capturing are made of metal anyway, so it's not like fire would do all that much damage to them.
Agreeing here, the Conflagration should do probably half or less as much damage as it does now. With Iron above 100 it's extremely unlikely to even come close to depleting their crew.
I have finally decided to move my lazy butt, and taken your remarks into consideration. Assuming I didn't messed up, a new version should be available, featuring a decrease in hull damages for the Conflagration.
About the "Fire vs metal" thing, please note that even if the ships are made of steel, their cargo is not, and neither is their fuel or ammo reserve. Thus, I am reluctant to make the conflagration as efficient as you suggest, and I can only recommand you to try and raise your mirrors instead of your irons (you wouldn't want to spray flaming napalm in the hold of the ships, would you?) It makes sense to me that if you are trying to take down the crew without destroying the ship, it's best to aim carefully when drowning the vessel under fire
If this still leaves you frustrated, know that I'm working on another mod to include *very* special weapons, and that you'll probably find some of them... satisfying to use against crew.

damage to crew should be at least double what it is currently for ALL weapons that do damage to crew higher than "0".
really. this mod just does not go far enough, that's its only limitation.
Basically the most powerful ones are not in London.
