Sorry folks, but this mod will be discontinued due to the recent update.
I'm simply not in the mood to remake every generatedgun/projectile file due to the switch to lua system. Which to be honest is a lot better then the old one.
Maybe i'll revisit it again when cf is done updating and has steam-works integrated. Otherwise don't count on it.

Anyone is free to use the assets in this mod as they please though. Have fun everyone.

i thought this has been discontinued for along long time.

so someone could use the assest to make an updated version?

      i would but i have no idea how to go about doing that :/ i have all the time in the world to update the thingies but i have no idea how and not sure i would be able to figure out how ;-;

combat update would have been alot lot more impressive with alot (ie all) of this stuff in it.

Didn't notice the September update fast enough, but it should have worked prior to that. And you're free to use the assets or anything found in the mod.

But as for updating that will be quite difficult, all .projectile files need to be entirely remade due to the .lua change. And that's quite a bit more complex in it's current form. But more options are possible, so it's likely better to create something new.
Esp with the options for secondary functions, there's a lot of improvement possible.

I doubt cf will implement similar functions, given how much dislike they're shown for me already.

sorry ;-; that really sucks. maybe someone will update it sometime and if not maybe ill give it a shot someday in the future.

they dont have to implement it as long as its possible to doit with mods thats what makes mods and modders so great.

developers can release a bad/ok/great game but modders make it greater.

i have no idea any of this stuff though ;-; any sites on how to go about updating this mod to the current or making a new mod based on this one i suppose using the assets (but figure those need to be updated so lol) and what tools to use?

If you still listen to this, Starbound Steam Workshop has been integrated, and the game is finally done. There are small updates now, but they promised not to make old stuff incompatible now.

I am one of the people who heavily argued to have your mod put into the main game of starbound, wrote a huge forum post on it. I would adore if you came back and finished this. <3 You'd certainly have my endorsement.

... would it help if I paid you? ^^; I used to love this mod, it's worth money to me.

ive tryed getting this working agian but i keep getting .generatedgun name errors... main issue is idk where its comming from... like it said first common rocket launcher and i unpacked the assets file and looked in and found the files and then after that it said rareassaultrifle duplicate but the only rareassaultrifle files are from the ammo mod so i have no idea where its getting the idea that theres a duplication...

What's happening, is Chucklefish changed the way the files are set up in the base code, so they're in a different place than they were when the mod was made. Therefore, the mod is duplicating the vanilla files instead of overriding them.

i cant find the files though. i unpacked the packed assets the game has and searched for the files from the base folder and it still only found them from the mod. maybe it installed them into another location like one of the appdata folders

Basically cf split previous randomgen files into 3 different folders. Which is easy to fix and i already did that for my personal version.

But that's not enough to make it work yet either, generatedguns are different now so i'll have to test out this new inaccuracy stat. That will take a while.

If you see this, do you think you will keep updating this mod or are you done completely?

I was very excited to see mod this still being a thing, but trying to run it throws a "duplicate .generatedgun" error on multiple files. It appears the 'randomgenerated' asset folder has been subdivided into 'standard', 'biome', 'dungeon' and 'other' subfolders.

The moment I saw you were still updating this I almost had a heart attack o_o
This has to be one of the best Starbound mods out there and it brings me immense joy you're still working on it!
    You rock man.

Though, I have found a recent incompatibility with Frackin' Universe. If I try to run them both it results in a " duplicate damage asset kind Name crystal. configfie/damage/crystal.damage" My best guess, is both are editing or adding the same damage types, or Frackin' Universe has added some of Ammo Overhaul's weapons during the hiatus. Either way, I'd love to see both of these working in tandem again, they're two of my favorite mods.
Stay awesome, and thanks for updating this.

Should be a easy fix, crystal.damage is a custom file i created for some crystal projectiles.

Simply remove crystal.damage from my MMNGUN/damage folder when using fracking universe and it should work fine.
Best fix on my end is probably just to rename it though, though i'm quite lazy atm ;p

I don't understand Chucklefish's problem with not making your mod officially into their build. Are they afraid of outside developer or something? I don't understand it but it's honestly their loss.

I love this mod, the ability to craft your own guns in your own way is fantastic. I love the Flare gun, not only because it lights up the darkness when ever you're deep underground...but also kills the creatures when they get too close, haha. "Oooo liiight..." Hehe. Then the Drill Rocket Launcher is very useful when you're just tired of using the manipulator or picking away with the diamond drill.

Chucklefish would really benefit with this, and the fact that they refuse to make it an official piece to their build is just plain sad. This mod is incredibly unique, with so many different kinds of builds you can make. The combinations are relentless. And the fact that you have to get all the necessary minerals you need for the perfect/favorite gun you want, and then make the parts one by one, is what makes this mod worth playing Starbound.

This is simply the #1 mod I look for when ever Starbound is updated, so that I can get an updated version of this mod and have some fun.

Who cares about Chucklefish, until they apologize, your mod will always be included into my game

Hi! My name is Yuni. ^_^ I'm over on starbound forum too.

I... really like your mod. Really, really, really like your mod. I was the loudest voice over in the 'suggestions for mod to integrate into the game' thread begging them to include you into the final version of Starbound. I was the first one to suggest it, I wrote around five solid paragraphs of why your mod was fun for me.

... I was really, really sad when I heard that your mod got axed from official inclusion. I was -furious- with the Starbound team. I completely left the forum for a period of about four months, because of the knowledge that my favorite mod was selected, and then just thrown out the window.

o-o It makes me smile to see that it's still being developed... this page says it was updated only a few months ago. Please keep updating it as Starbound builds are released. <3 Your mod makes guns actually worth using in the game. My favorite is the icicle-caltrop grenade launcher, the one that makes ice spikes when they hit the ground.

... If there was a donate button I'd use it, but I can't seem to find one. I'll keep looking. I just wanted you to know that some people REALLY appreciate your mod, Hun. Thank you for your hard work. I hope to see more of this. <3 I hope it stays compatible with the latest starbound versions... I think a new stable build is on its way in the coming months.

Hmm... april... and the latest version of starbound was March-ish... I HOPE it's still being updated... your mod was the only reason ranged combat was interesting in Starbound.
