Love the idea of this!  Does it also work for the wandering farmers whose houses get destroyed?  Giving them only 5 gold seems really inadequate...

    Hi.
I just wanted to say thank you for this mod.
I know it's an old mod, but i just discovered it and it is really nice, so thank you for making and sharing this.

Would be cool if you made it so that "The gift of charity" leveled with how much you give.

    (1 gold = 1 hour; 25 gold = 5 hours; 1000 gold = 24 hours) you get the idea.

Though I still feel good about the 50 just, I never knew I needed this option in my life until just now.

I've wanted a mod that did this very thing for a long time.

would love this mod to expand on this idea. More money to donate to temples. You know that Husband and Wife you meet on the road that warns you about dragons and he lost everything? You can give 5 gold. FIVE gold. Wish I could tell them to steward my home or something....

There is one for the temple of Mara in Riften.

Mods related to charity are not very popular it seems. If you find anything please share it with us.

This is late, but I figured you may still be interested. You use xEdit to change mods to .esp-fe or esl.

      1. Open up your load order in xEdit.
      2. Right click the mod in question, click "Compact FormIDs for ESL." Note that
this may give you the message "Nothing to do." if it is not necessary,
or may tell you that the operation is not possible on the plugin. In the
latter case, you can still continue.
      3. Click Record Flags at the top, and check ESL.
      4. Close xEdit and save the plugin. It will no longer count against the 254 limit.

This is the ESP-to-ESL *protocol* indeed.
This mod -- I just did it -- doesn't require compacting the FormsIDs.
      How can we tell ?
      - load the file(s) you're interested in with xEDIT
      - click Apply Script
      - select Find ESP plugins which could be turned into ESL
The rest is as nintai88 says.
If undesirable effects, reinstall mod, run LOOT + WryeBash, reload previous save, enjoy.

This is much better, thank you. Do you know of a mod that does something similar for donations in temples? The 5 Gold in the Temple of Mara for example seems too little considering they probably do charity work and so on. Edit: At least there you can donate repeatedly. :)

The fact that I could only give a beggar one gold is something that has bothered me ever since Oblivion. "Thank you kind sir!"

I wish that, if we gave enough gold to Beggars, that we could help them make a life for themselves. Make it out of poverty. Always thought that'd be nice.

May I recommend the mod Servants Sort Loot in addition to this one.

      - With the mod Servants Sort Loot you are able to hire Beggars as servants. You'll have to pay them a salary, and they will clean the space you assigned them to, as well as sort the loot you give them to the from you assigned containers, which worked fine in my testing.
