2017 Update: New TES5Edit scripts have been added to the optional files section that allow you to remove certain creature spawns you may not want. Requires TES5Edit or similar programs so check them out and learn how to use them, and make sure to read the ReadMe files. If you do not know how to use TES5Edit, know that there are many tutorials available online and the process of using the new script is fairly simple and should not be to difficult to apply as long as you install TES5Edit and check the ReadMe file.
Update: 5.1v is here. You can choose through two different menus to remove the beasts. You can choose which ones you'd like to add and which ones to remove. They are all leveled lists. If you experience crashing it's best advised now that you should install SKSE64 and make sure you have a converted copy of SkyUI 5.1v.
These will be alpha testing files for now. Both Beasts of Tamriel will be considered Alpha.
I'll be uploading both the 5.1v Loose and the BSA versions. Please test them and let any of us know of the bugs. Please keep the bug reports in the posts only or in the forums.
opusGlass - I just want to add that SKSE is not required for v5.1. There are some additional features activated by SKSE/SkyUI/FISS but for 99% of users it will work perfectly without any of those. There are only three cases in which you will have issues if you don't have SKSE: If you have a ton of creatures added to your leveled lists by other mods. I mean a ton. You will know if this is you because you will get a CTD the first time you try to save. If you encounter this, then I suggest waiting for SKSE64 full release. I honestly don't expect anyone to have this issue with BoT since it adds only a handful of entries to each vanilla leveled lists. If you have other mods that add creatures dynamically with scripts. I don't think SE currently has any mods that do this besides DDC and BoT, which are compatible with each other. You really, really, really hate spell menus.
Update: Make sure you are using the latest version of SkyUI Alpha on the SSE nexus with this mod. It loads without any problems. I've tested it multiple times with conversed SKSE mods.
Mod works just fine for me so far 45 hours in, I'm level 46, however I did encounter the same missing Nimhe issue inside Nchuand-zel. And, the following fixed the issue for me.
Go into Ssedit or Zedit and open up Beasts of tamriel. It should automatically open it's master files.
Go to cells, open up block 3, sub-block 8, and in the menu it should say "NchuandZel01 Nchuand-zel Excavation Site", left click this option, and in the window to the right it should show Skyrim's version of Nchuand-zel and then Tamriel beasts' version.
In the right window, right click Tamriel Beasts' version of Nchuand-zel and one of the options in the drop down box should say "remove", click "remove". When prompted, click yes to anything. When done correctly, you should see Nchuand-zel be removed from block 3 in tamriel beasts. Save the esp, then create a backup just in case, and reload your save.
This fixed the issue for me. If you don't know how to use SSedit or Zedit you should really learn how. It's invaluable and it's useful for multiple BGS games. Otherwise, you could remove the mod, or try to advance the quest with console commands. I don't recommend it though. I also don't recommend using this mod for a serious playthrough, as many users have pointed out numerous issues with the mod. Although my playthrough has been relatively smooth, mods are fickle, and it appears this one is especially. Cheers
Yes, although that doesn't list the Nimhe fix in the description it does fix it. However, I still recommend people download neither of these mods. I'll leave my comment up for posterity, but I do recommend you go download that mod instead if this mod is in your save file!
Didn't this mod have an mcm previously? I could've sworn it did because I remember having basically everything but the werebeasts and sea creatures disabled, as much as I like this mod it has quite a few creatures that simply aren't to my taste and I'd hope for the ability to disable them.
I have Skyrim Creatures too... some problem?? cause i put BoT first in Wrye Bash and still not appearing some creatures... i'm level 40.. is for that? cause ant Ecathere too... or Giants.. idk why
Is this safe to use still? I am reading the bug section and lots of people say ctd? It's been years since updated and I want to make sure it's ok? I want Chimeras, so if anyone knows a mod that has Chimeras and boars, that'd be a great alternative also. Cheers xx
I have been using this mod since the LE release, and never had any problems even with large modlists. However after reading about so many bugs and CTDs that I never experienced, I'm 100% sure that there's a mod incompatibility with a popular mod that most people use, but I don't. I just have no clue what it might be.
I playing in clear-game vanilla saves and have CTDs with this mod in some areas. I repeat - clear vanilla, no other creatures or any mods. Just 3 main DLC + USSEP. And sometimes my game crashes to desktop with this mod.
