How To Recreate Jurassic Park in the Middle of Whiterun
Hey Everybody and welcome to another Skyrim SE Modding News. I'm Thyworm, bringing you the latest modding news and mod reviews and if you enjoy mods for Fallout 4 or Skyrim, consider subscribing!
I'm starting off with a mod that brings back the old days. This is Repopulate Skyrim with Prehistoric Animals by gg77. I was going through the list of animals and I was like, there's no way that a Giraffokeryx actually was a real thing, right? Well, turns out they exist. Or, well, existed. Extinct now, of course, but you can summon them in Skyrim. Let's have a look how this works.
The concept is pretty simple. After installation of this mod, you can go to Arcadia, Anoriath or Hulda and get a few of these scrolls. They're not that expensive, considering you're basically building your own Jurassic Park, in the market of Whiterun. Turns out these creatures are agressive. Or at least some. Others are more docile and just start eating some grass.
Creatures you summon you can also mount and ride aorund whiterun. Or wherever you want, I suppose. All in all, this should give you a pretty basic idea of what this mod does.
Time for something a little more immersive, because we all want immersive things, don't we. Immersive mod #1 is Immersive farms, by ImmotalIce. Because the vanilla Skyrim farms could not sustain the population, the mod author argues. I guess.
So what happened? Well, the amount of crops and veggies per farm was significantly increased. Now farms hold way more food, so no one has to be hungry. And all nonsense aside, after installing this mod, these farms actually look a lot better.
Another immersive thing is dragons by Rougeshot. This mod increases the wing size of dragons, because according to the mod author, the wings were too small to lift an entire dragon. Science, ladies and gentlemen. I don't know, the wings of a plane seem small to me as well, but that usually turns out well. So ye, if you want bigger wings on your dragons, go for it. And many do, because this is a hot mod.
Something else, equally immersive, if not more immersive, this is Goals for Roleplaying by NalusaChito1. It is not an actual mod, but a pdf-file, which includes goals for roleplaying.
Looking at this pdf, i'll jsut go through one archetype here, out of the many archetypes offered. We'll be taking the bandit, and by using the bandit, you get a set amount of goals that you can achieve in game.
Not really immersive at all, but nice regardless, is the Tundra Texture Transplant by Surjamte. it makes the tundra around Whiterun green, instead of yellow. I like my world green, every now and then. The only real issue here are the LODs, which are still yellow. So that does come off as a little weird. I installed the version with some extra green moss as well, so the difference is clear.
Another amazing mod I found is the Snow Rider by Mentha. It has it's ownin-depth review, which you can check out by clicking the card. It adds a new player home in a small globe. It's a really inventive mod with nifty craftsmanship. Go check out that mod guys :)
There's two mods that are tied together, both made by the same mod author. These are the Stormcloakl Hero Armory and the Imperial Dragonknight Armory, by Suran.
Both these mods come with their own story, which explains why Ulfric has this epic sword and shield in his bedroom. Or why there is an imperial tomb just outside Solitude with an equally cool set, in case you're an imperial.
