I use fGlobalContrastBoost=-.18 to remove black crush. However, it also made the image slightly washed out. To counter this, I reduced the intensity of the fog. This makes the contrast almost identical to vanilla while still removing black crush, with the added bonus of less noticeable fog pop in.
I raised the power (which lowers the intensity) of all fog in interiors by 50%, and all exteriors except soul cairn by 25%. I did not change distant fog, things that were meant to be hidden will still always be hidden. This mod is extremely subtle, and most likely will not work with many popular weather and lighting mods because they have their own settings for fog. Because of this, I do not expect many others to use it. If you do use it and for some reason encounter a problem, please let me know so I can fix it for us. I use these as well!
Thanks so much for this -- it's doing exactly what I was looking for, reducing the amount of close up fog outdoors. Can't tell you how much this was bugging me. Endorsed!
Nice mod! I'm curious, about what the Exterior fog range is? I'm talking about the values you usually use with the "setfog" command, e.g. "setfog 5000 30000"
This is perfect and very needed. Would you at all be able to make stronger versions that is to say something to lessen the tint even more maybe? no one else has taken this problem on before. Mods that comnpletly remove fog look terrible in game.
Hi, could you do an identical mod for first skyrim? There are others but i like what you did here and would like to have it for normal skyrim... in separate files for exterior and interior.
