Is there an easy way to apply the AI to all NPCs in the game for mod authors?

      Hi there!

As per previous posts and the video, it would be kinda impractical and overkill to give this to every NPC. Honestly the select individuals that I've given EAI stuff to are incredibly powerful compared to vanilla AI, so facing an army of them might not be fun for the player at all.

However, you could start by modifying a handful of Actors and going from there. Did you have an area or Actor that you were thinking of modding?

(this... might double post... i had net issues as i clicked submit on the last time i sent this... sorry in advance): question: in theory (and i understand your opinion on it being a bit overkill due to how the ai works) would it be in theory possible to set it up so that a zedit patcher can go through and add the ai to every npc in the game? if so how difficult would it be to do so? if not is there any particular reason why thats not possible? secondarily: how much of a performance hit would you say doing such a thing would cause?

i ask because im working on a skyrim together collection for me and friends that i want to call: "skyrim, but its trying to kill you" and i wanted to combine this with requiem, sands of time, and a few other mods (including a mod that makes trap triggers nearly invis) because most of us have...... ungodly amounts of hours in the game x).

mod is great.  For example: I ran into the Eldergleam druids by mistake and was able to escape/sneak away to Windhelm.  They followed me to Windhelm and when I exited, they attacked the city (Giants, spirit wolves, etc.).  Hilarious fun.

Oh hey, what a battle! :D Man, I would LOVE to see a fight like that! Have you captured any similar events to video?

    Basic (newbie) questions:
    - As a utility, can it be added mid-playthrough (yes, I also want to know this about your Organic Factions, since that mod is why I'm installing this one).
    - Is there anything in particular that it should be loaded before/after?

Thanks! This was a really great idea. After multiple playthroughs, the idea of smarter enemies is fantastic!

Hi there! To answer your questions:

      1) This mod should be fine to add mid-playthrough, since it doesn't alter a single thing inside the vanilla game. However, both Organic Factions and the Organic Factions Extension do change a few navmeshes and such from vanilla. While I have never heard of any issues from installing the full stack mid-game, it's still a risk; I would advise manually backing up everything first, and then save your game with your character inside the Blue Palace (a cell I've never touched) just before you add the mods to prevent weirdness.

      2) Because I fix a ton of navmesh issues with the vanilla game, my mod stack should go towards the bottom of your list, meaning it should take precedence over everything else. The stack order is always EAI Framework -> Organic Factions -> Organic Factions Extension last.

I hope you have fun! I'd love to hear how it goes for you!

I did end up installing all three, and I've been enjoying it a lot so far. I've been attacked by some really interesting groups, which has been fun, and I'm enjoying seeing the factions shift and change.

I started a new character, just in case, so I can't say whether the mid-playthrough is an issue or not.

Thank you for a great group of mods!

Oh hey, glad you're enjoying it! :) I hope you have fun with all the new groups in there -- and I'd love to hear if you have a big memorable encounter, some folks have shared awesome stories where there's a clash between Actors from multiple different mods.

Will this conflict with NPC AI overhauls?

Not that I've seen definitively thus far -- again, this mod only affects Actors that modders attach it to, not random Actors anywhere in the world. It's really a tool kit for myself that I extended to other modders.

I've seen hints that there might be conflicts with a single mod explicitly called "AI Overhaul" -- however, I've only seen fragments of people's logs, and nobody has done the comprehensive "process of elimination" thing to ensure there are no conflicts.

On the AI Overhaul SSE forum page it says that it wouldn't have compatibility issues with things mods that touched enemy AI.

Hi! This project seems really promising and I wanted to give it a test.

I opened up a new game, I started from Riverwood. While going to Whiterun I saw an Imperial Patrol with a prisoner. I was out of sight and they became aggressive towards me. Even the prisoner was aggressive. I killed them and moved on.

Upon getting close to Whiterun, I saw the little stable boi and Uthgerd getting aggressive towards me again. For some reason, the follower mod Sofia was protecting me even though I didn't interact with her. I killed the aggressors and tried to talk with Sofia, but the dialogue got stuck and I pressed Esc to close it. However, my character got stuck in a weird pose and even after I reloaded the game from a previous spot, my character was invisible and some parts of my character were still standing in the state I loaded the save file.

I tried "tai" to disable the aggro, but it didn't work. I don't know if this mod caused it, I use some other AI mods too but this mod seems to work fine with other mods since its scope is limited to itself. I kind of feel like this or Organic Factions somehow caused it, but I will do further testing, and I will add my findings here.

This post is meant for no harm or bad intent, I simply want to share my experience to get feedback on possible solutions or to share my solutions if possible. Thanks for the mod too, I am sure there is something I'm messing up, as I said I will keep the post updated.

      Hiya!

Thanks for the heads up -- but this mod doesn't do anything to any other Actors aside from the special hidden Warehouse levels I set up for demo purposes.

This is a Framework that allows me and other modders to make smart Actors for other mods -- I've built my own stuff in Organic Factions and the Organic Factions Extension.

So, whatever you experienced is from some combination of other mods. It sounds like there are several things conflicting with each other, especially with that weird stuck / invisible stuff going on. Good luck sorting all that out!
