I really like this. It's a cozy little hideout and not too overdone. Would it be alright to make a patch to place the entrance on the other side of the wall, in Daggercross Alley? I think the two work really well together, and walking past a bunch of lowlifes and ne'er-do-wells to get into your den of treachery makes more sense than sneaking past Riften's elite in the midst of battle training.
Yeah I never though about that, I wanted a corner that was sort of tucked away but I figure you wouldn't sneak past them during training but. wait until night time :) A patch sounds great! Let me know how it goes.
I have it made but was waiting to see if you ESL-ified your mod before posting it. I actually created 2 separate patches - one that straight-up just moves the door to the outside of the wall, and one that does that, but puts the key inside the Ragged Flagon near the door on the other side. My reasoning is that an unlockable back entrance to the Thieves' Guild, for only the cost of picking up a key off a barrel, seems like cheating. But on the other hand, an established TG member with an easy egress from the Flagon without having to enter the city proper... that's just convenient and logical.
I haven't looked up how to convert it into an ESL just yet, been busy with other things. I really like your approach to handling the door and I agree it makes sense. For me it doesn't feel like cheating but rather out of convenicence since I wouldn't use this player home unless I wasn't a thief character.
I'll see if I can get around to turn it into an ESL this week/end when I have time!
I sent you the file. I have it hosted on my site temporarily, due to the ESL version being a master for my patches. Once you upload yours, or if you want me to take it down for any other reason, let me know and I'll remove it.
Yeah.. making enough gold is too much effort but using the CK somehow is not! But it's like The Sims, once you start "oh just gonna do this" and suddenly you've renovated the entire kitchen sort of deal.
Aye I know the SIMS and building :) I am around, playing various games, still doing my hobby and having fun with it :) My Skyrim game went foobar recently. Funny - have had way more problems with SE then I ever did with LE :P
Oh that's odd! I'm still on the same computer I've had for nearly a decade, constantly struggled with Oldrim and then BAM! SSE worked wonders for me as I have fewer crashes along with mods that are far more script heavy ontop of using graphical enhancements that I wasn't able to use in LE/Oldrim.
No idea why what causes things to go backwards like that for you however.
I needed something for my new character and didn't have the patience to quest for a player house.. ironiclly I didn't mind sitting for 2 days making my own basement instead.

Time for the boring question : is it ESPFE or you couldn't convert it ?
Thanks, and keep on modding !

Long time no see!
