Q: Can you make another change to a shader? A: If it's a vanilla magic effect shader (or if I happen to have the same mod of a mod-added ugliness), maybe. Post a request and I'll take a look. If it's that ugly green glow that I missed another version of, I'll definitely be able to take that junk out.
Q: Is Cutting Room Floor required? A: No. The changes I made that are relevant to CRF are changes to effect shaders that were in the vanilla game. The game just never calls those effect shaders in vanilla. Since the whole point of CRF is to put back stuff that's already there, I just said, "ehh, maybe don't put that back." (As with the rest of this mod, the way it works is by just making the thing invisible. Nothing is actually removed.)
Q: What's all the stuff you're wearing? A: Hair is from ApachiiSkyHair optional file v1_5. Robe is from Opulent Outfits mage robe replacer version. Specifically, it's Conjuration robes II. Cloak is from Winter is Coming, a bear claw cloak. Bag is the Dark Brotherhood shoulder bandolier from Bandolier Bags and Pouches. Bow is a glass bow (I think) replacer from CM Wooden Bows. Face is modified by Ethereal Elven Overhaul, Better Females by Bella, and XCE. Body is UNP. Iron Arrows are in Frostfall position on XPMSE. Inigo is wearing Relic Hunter armor from Legacy, and his hood/helm is either from Winter is Coming or Brigandage. The helmet on my first before/after is from Brigandage. I don't remember where his shield is from, but I can find out if you really want. The other follower further back is Ahtar from vanilla and the guy way in the distance is just a Whiterun guard, but who gives a french toast stick about him.
Q: What's your ENB? A: I don't have one because I play on a 3 year old (or is it 4?) gaming laptop. I use a modified version of ICBINE, which is available here. It doesn't take particularly great screenshots, but it helps cover up my frame rate issues, weirdly.
Q: Hey, you're wearing an Amulet of Dibella in the after pic! How do I know it works? A: Good eye, person-who-probably-would-never-ask-that-question-but-I-pointed-it-out-anyway. I just did that so my before/after pic would be in the same position easier - and derped by not just removing the amulet of protection instead. Both of those pics are taken without the mod installed. But you can tell it works because I equipped the amulet in the "works with mods" image, after installation. ;)
Q: What's the mod that adds that Amulet of Protection (Superior)? A: More Interesting Loot.
Q: Can you make your character a follower? A: I really want to but I have no idea hooooowww! :D *falls into a pit* (I fucking love fancy voiced followers and Inigo is such an inspiration to me and I want to make one but DAMN THIS LACK OF KNOWLEDGE.)

I assume it doesn't remove effects which occure when you consume potions (not glowing edges on the body but 1-2 sec. effects), so is there some mod whis removes them as well? By the way, thanks a lot for the mod
Thank you so much for saving me some work - adding these changes to my bashed patch was a five minute job. The vanilla alteration armor effects really do suck.
This mod only removes visible effects of spells/armors that apply over the whole character, like outline-ish. Anything that would touch only a weapon is not covered by this mod.
Looks great! I play with Forgotten Magic Redone, there are multiple spells that add a shader too (Like phantom shroud or deathly pall) and I always hated the shaders on my character. I found at least the shader for phantom shroud in the description of the mod, GhostNewFXShader. Deathly pall I don't know. Will your mod remove those too?
I don't use that mod, and GhostNewFXShader isn't a base game shader, so this mod doesn't affect that. It is possible to change it yourself in TES5Edit if you want.
Assuming it works the same as the vanilla magic effect shaders:
1. Open Forgotten Magic Redone and No More Ugly Effects in TES5Edit. 2. Right click on the effect shader from Forgotten Magic Redone. Select "Copy as override into...", and pick No More Ugly Effects. 3. In the new copy in No More Ugly Effects, right click -> edit on the following values, and set them all to 0: Edge Effect - Persistent Alpha, Edge Effect - Full Alpha Ratio, Fill/Texture Effect - Full Alpha Ratio, Fill/Texture Effect - Persistent Alpha.
With this method, you won't have to worry about anything breaking if you update Forgotten Magic Redone unless they remove that shader.
Alternatively, you can remove the link to the effect shader from the spells themselves, but this is not the way this mod handles such things. This method does work for custom effects that you want to remove as well:
1. Open Forgotten Magic Redone in TES5Edit. 2. Locate the spell you want to remove visuals from in the "spell" section. Under Effects - Base Effect, you will find the name/formID for the magic effect it is linked to. The formID should start with "MGEF:" 3. Find the Magic Effect. Under "VMAD - Virtual Machine Adapter," the link to the shader/art object is there. It should be just about the last thing in that section. The formID will start with either "EFSH:" or "ARTOBJ:". Set that to 0.
With this method, you will have to make the edit again every single time you update Forgotten Magic Redone. Alternatively, if you don't mind having an additional .esp in your load order, you can make the edits with a "copy as override into..." -> "new file," and then you won't have to redo it after every update, because you won't be editing the main mod itself. But, it looks like that mod hasn't been updated in years, so I'd just make the edits directly if I were you.
Always remember to save a backup of whatever mods you change in case you break something.
I'm surprised this isn't more popular. It got really annoying having that ugly green glaze on my character every time I found a good screenshot moment just because I use the alteration armor spells. Thanks.
Just wondering, I use modified effects for the oak-skins and such, if I use this, will it remove them totally, or just the glow, and you still get the stone skin look etc.?
EDIT: Image example, stone skin on the left, looks fine, but Oak-skin on the right has that green glow. Will this mod just remove the glow? https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4333/35609793854_6f2f976cd8_o.png
That depends on exactly how you're changing the effect. Just to be safe, if you WANT any effects from your 'flesh spells besides the glow, use version 1 of this mod instead of 1.1. I can guarantee that version 1 won't mess with anything except the glows.
what mod gives you those textures? only one i know of is this one and it doesnt look like thats the one? ( http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51592/? )
Is this mod supposed to remove blessing glows too? (I'm using this alongside No More Glowing Edges) I hit E on a Shrine of Auriel and now my character is perpetually glowing red... using other blessings or dispelling myself through the console does nothing to get rid of this. The glowing persists in werewolf form, too.

Keep in mind, it'll need patching for any Alchemy and Potion altering Mods you may have installed.
Edit: nevermind I found a port and its wonderful

Edit:What if there is no VMAD? like the "Vampire - Ice flesh" from Better Vampie, there is no VMAD in it.

HOW DO I STOP GLOWING LIKE A RED FAIRY
Also, if you were going to use this mod, you should've taken out No More Glowing Edges, because it's redundant.
