the polished ultra-smooth style takes some time to get used to and I wish it was sligthly lighter because it's darker than my very white snow but it does something not many if any other iceberg retex manage to do, it looks good at long and close range, most of the retexes look pixellated or blurry at close range this one always looks good keeping it thanks :)
thy also have that epic-mystic world look I'm looking for I don't want boring "snow" icebergs

Is that an Iron Armor retexture? The way I remember it it didn't look that nice.

Considering gif is limited to 256 colors, your animated gif looks bloody great.
    Thanks for the mod!

I'm using the Real Ice V3 mod right now ( #5388 ), which I like a lot, but I will give yours a try. BTW, that mod covers some of the same textures, but also one called glacierparallax.dds, which your mod doesn't touch. Do you think I could use their glacierparallax.dds with your mod or will that look weird?

Your archive is missing a folder named "textures" which creates problems when installing with a mod manager. Just thought I'd let you know.

Thankyou for pointing this out Hallodria. It made figuring out how to fix it really easy. Slowly I am learning.

Thank you for telling me! I did that with two of my mods. Fixed.

      No worries mate.
So what's your take on the glacierparallax.dds file? As far as I can tell, the mashup looks great in-game.

So, how does it look after a bit of ... reflection? Now that your initial impression has ...cooled off... a bit. Sorry, sorry, I was drifting off topic...

But seriously, you might want to get up and close to see if there are Parallax issues (see below for explanation).
      -----------------------------
Using a totally different and unconnected parallax file (especially a strong one) can also create strange /distortion issues. Especially given that parallax maps job is to stretch the Normal and Diffuse textures either up or down, this can unintentionally cause the "visible" textures to look distorted and stretched from certain angles. Sometimes, these effects are only visible fairly close up, when the stretch/distortion effects really pop out.

That said, it is entirely possible to use another parallax file (not designed for the original file). Parallax merely creates a height map for the object being rendered, and random or distinct height values may actually work well with the texture and bumpiness/roughness (normal map).

In fact, sometimes, designers intentionally use normal and parallax that do not "mirror" the original texture map (or a "diffuse" map) to add complexity and "realism" effects that a good photo/graphic cannot possibly emulate. A great example of this is Gamwich' blacksmith's table in his clutter collection where the normals are quite different from the diffuse, combining to look photorealisticly pockmarked, despite the his fairly unexciting diffuse map. Several mountain/rock terrains uploaded on the Nexus also do this extremely well, like the "Vivid landscapes" series (especially volcanic and tundra regions) by Hein84 or "One mountain" again, by Gamwich. I should mention Pfuscher's amazing parallax collections, as well.

Thanks, I know how to create parallax maps.
However, glacierparallax.dds is not actually a parallax map, but a full color bitmap. So I'm not really sure how it's used by the game.

re: how does it look - good I think. I upped some screenshots, they are pending approval by the author.

I let it overwrite Purity's landscape textures which leaves purity's glacierparrallax.dds to come through - nifty combo. Finally the perfect ice for my game!

David could you make a video, I already have your fantastic david trees mod and dircliffs but there are so many glacier textures

btw. I was wondering if it safe to use with Enhanced texture detail UV tweaks overwirghting your dirtcliff nifs, you still get texture variety? I just wanted some UV maps on the base rock

This is the best ice texture I have found yet, and it works with Skyrim SE. It also isn't as blue as the screenshots make it look, and I suspect that is because of an ENB.

For what are the "glacierFlows" and "glacierSnowslab_n.dds" textures ? They do nothing in-game. Vanilla hasn't textures named "glacierFlows" and "glacierSnowslab_n.dds" so I'm wondering.
