Is there's any Manual Install guide? No, not the "vanilla2HD" packs, I'm talking about the the optional, new packs. At first I though that I needed to rename the stuff inside, but I guess I'm wrong.
Should I rename, for example, the Brilliant Leviathan folder to, for instance, Elder Dragon, for the BL texture to kick in? I couldn't figure out how to install these for the life of me.
Late reply, but maybe someone else who wants a port is reading the comments - no conversion is necessary, pluginless texture replacers work fine on SSE.
maybe im a bit nitpicky, but in the previews for blood dragon only its original texture shows with the fins/sails, is there a way that maybe in an update all options for blood dragon get this? I quite love that about the blood dragon, and it'd be interesting to see it in more options. Oh and possibly support for the dlc dragons? if theres any chances of this happening that'd be amazing. if not i completely understand, i enjoy the mod anyways
Howdy. It was just my personal preference to not include the fins. I would have to edit the alpha channels for each texture. That in and of itself is not hard, but I am transitioning my home and my belongings, so I am not really able to do that right now. I appreciate your feedback and understand that my preferences should not restrict your options. Maybe sometime in the future I can work on it, same goes for the DLC dragons. Thanks for the kind words!
Oh ofcourse. Well take your time im enjoying the others! Sometimes takes me a few to reconise from a distance. I just cant wait for when they do all have fins! Ohh dlc support will be neato. But take your time! We all have lives. Thank you kindly for the reply!
I'm thinking of trying my hand at that myself, if it's okay. You wouldn't happen to know of any GIMP tutorials that could help me figure it out, would you?
Well, I did some poking around with nifskope, and it turns out that the textures from this go very well on both the Revered and Legendary dragons as-is.
The Revered Dragon runs under the same rules as the Blood Dragon (in other words, it'll be missing the fins) unless it's using the latter's texture. Same goes vice-versa; the Dawnguard dragon textures (sans the special one) from the vanilla-HD dragon pack can be renamed to be applied to the other dragon types, to varying effects.
The Serpentine's texture doesn't work on the other dragons, though, and vice-versa.
No offense but you can look pretty much anywhere to find this (extremely basic) information. You should probably even be able to figure it out without having to be told.
That being said, here is a basic mod installation tutorial.
However, you should trust MO. I made the mistake of not using MO for 4 years, please don't make the same mistake, you're going to waste TONS AND TONS AND TONS of time modding and troubleshooting problems and uninstalling/reinstalling mods etc. that could have been avoided if you were using MO.
Here is a link to a page of someone else who made the mistake of not using MO for 5 years and here is a link to a great beginners guide that you should read in its entirety before asking more questions that you should already know the answers to.
Although I don't use MO or NMM anymore, I did trust MO. I do manual installs now. It was very helpful and never messed up my game. Maybe because I was super careful, but you should always be when messing with a game. I suggest MO, if you want. :-)
I was glad to find this. I really liked the textures from New Dragon Species, and had been wanting to use them for the dragons that get spawned in Skyrim.

Though to answer the question, the textures would go in the "dragon" folder, named as "dragon_earth".
