Muse is a soft, clean preset, tweaked with performance during regular gameplay in mind. Fate is a dark, desaturated technicolour variant. Custom weathers. BETA.
The mist anchor and weather files are my own work and may be used freely with credit. The rest of the files belong to their respective authors (below). See their permissions before using their files.
This has been a longterm, evolving personal preset, but a couple of people had expressed interest so here it is. My goals were simply a generally brighter look that wasn't an overly saturated bloom soup, had no boring weathers and didn't take performance out back and put a bullet in it.
If you like heavy saturation and flashy lens effects, you will probably be very bored.
REVAMPED EXTERIOR FOG IS REQUIRED.
OVERVIEW Soft colours and more subtle bloom ** Many custom weathers for sky colour/lighting/cloud variety Sunglare mimics human eye -- no camera lens effects Pretty bokeh DoF effect Everything tweakable via in-game GUI
** Fate instead uses a dark, desaturated technicolour effect (EXPERIMENTAL!!)
ABOUT "REALISM" It's a fantasy preset, but I didn't crank values willy nilly. For instance: Interior window brightness is adjusted to weather/time of day, water is choppier in storms, candles show up more strongly at night than in the day, etc.
LIGHTING AND OVERHAULS Prod80, the brain behind the custom coding Muse uses, does not recommend using lighting overhauls with his files. However, vanilla lighting issues drive me bonkers, so Muse was tweaked with Relighting Skyrim installed. The intended balance was that nights and dungeons be playable without a torch, but easier to navigate with one.
INSTALLATION
1. Drop everything inside my Muse ENB folder into your MAIN SKYRIM folder.
2. Download the .279 binaries here (the down arrow all the way at the bottom of the page!) and copy the d3d9.dll file (wrapper version) into your MAIN SKYRIM folder.
3. Make sure Skyrim's antialiasing is turned OFF.
4. Edit the following values in your skyrimprefs.ini at Documents\My Games\Skyrim (Mod Organizer users need to do this via the "puzzle piece" icon in MO)
MOST WEATHER OVERHAULS ARE INCOMPATIBLE Because of how this ENB hooks into vanilla values, and because of the extensive per-weather edits, it is generally NOT DESIGNED for weather overhaul mods, including:
Climates of Tamriel Pure Weathers/Purity RCRN
Also NOT compatible: ATMOSPHERE Enhanced Lights and FX Enhanced Lighting for ENB (ELE) Remove Interior Fog
RECOMMENDED/USED IN SCREENSHOTS Please see the list here.
