Hi um idk if you are still reading any of these but i would like to know how to remove additional head parts in the race window, it seems i can't simply delete them by selecting them and pressing the delete key so i tried to compromise it by just dragging and dropping the head part i want it but it just stacks in with no way of removing both of them.
thanks for the detailed tutorial! Everything worked as intended besides one issue: the teeth of my custom race are sticking out like this: https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/images/110/26814739-1630252482.jpg
Thank you for the kind words, ChrisKley! I'm glad you found this helpful.
All humor aside, I have no idea what causes the problem you have illustrated.
I see that you have posted this message merely minutes ago. As it happens, I have just returned from a long sojurn from Skyrim and have decied to, as they say, play it again.
My memory is foggy regarding my own work, for instance. I will be taking some time to re-learn some things but I do recall the facial morphs being rather tricky. If I ever completed another tutorial for Skyrim, it would be a third installment of this series and it would deal with facial features (and maybe overlays).
If you find a solution to your problem, please share it with us and thanks again for your interest in my work.
thank you so much mate. this is awesome. very professional. i just have one problem. i already have my Skyrim bsa unpacked, but i cant find MaleHeadCharGen.tri in the extracted folder or by searching in the bsa itself. is this a problem for me. thx again though, great guide.
I hope this message finds you well. Thank you for your comments regarding this piece. I will look into this issue and promise to reply when I find a solution. At present, the best I can do is to suggest downloading "Unique Everything". There is a file at that mod page called "Starter Pack 2" I believe. Within that file is another file called something like "MaleHeadCustomization(possibly s).tri". You could try using that file and re-naming it to MaleHeadCharGen.tri. This may work, but then you would have to consider that if you wished to publish your race, you would need to secure the permission of whoever made that .tri file.
I will send you another message in the near future. Thank you for your patience.
This is an older message, but I had the same issue as Wamsley and this is one of the very few pages that popped up during a cursory Google search. For anyone else experiencing this issue, MaleHeadCharGen.tri is the exact same thing as MaleHeadCustomization.tri - It's just named differently for whatever reason. You should be able to find this file after you unpack your Skyrim Meshes.bsa
Nice to see a good tutorial. Thank you for sharing this information. And on another note - Please keep your political views at home though. Trump may be a piece of work in his own way but at least he's better than that pos racist Obama and he supports us American Veterans. No Politician is worth a damn, some are just worse than others. That is all.
So, this tutorial is amazing. I've learned a lot. I just have a couple issues. My hair styles, eyes, and brows are not loading into the character creation. I triple checked to make sure I followed the tutorial to a T. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I saw you're still active on the prequel to this mod so I hope you this. Thank you in advance for the help!!
Thank you for this tutorial. I made my first custom race and learnt a lot about CK. I'm looking forward to your advanced tutorial.
It must have taken you days, if not weeks to make this. Both 'custom race' tutorials are now my guide to making a new race. I hope you can find the motivation to make the advanced version.
I can not say enough how much I appreciate your fine work! Endorsed! I'm dutch and I managed to make a new race with the help of your tutorials, so anybody can do it in my opinion. BUT it takes efford and the will to customize your game, or else don't start with this. And read the text!!! Took me a day or two, but I have Evolved Nords now. That was really worth it.
I have one question.
In game, when I make my character for my custom race, the headcolor becomes lighter when i apply complexions. I think the 4 'femaleheaddetail-parts' are the textures connected to complexion. Is there a way to apply these to my custom race?
I am at this part of the tutorial, Chapter 6 - Armour Add-on Creation, step 6ab:
"Still working within the Models Window, right click the now empty Window, select “New”, and add the 3 Armour Add–ons that you created during steps 6b) through 6y) (you will have to add them one at a time)."
And... nothing is happening. It will not add the new forms that I just created to the Models Window. It just stays blank. I tried starting a new Armor but I still can't add in any Add-ons. Does anyone have any idea why?
This has been exceptionally helpful. Thanks so much for putting in the work -- as someone who's done step-by-step guides for a lot of other things, I know what a time commitment it is.

Any idea how to fix that?

Derp.
Much appreciated.
I'm making eyes headparts for my race. I get to this part:
Except I don't have a HeadPartsXVampire head part, I only have HeadPartsXandVampire. Same thing? I assume so, but just checking.
EDIT: Derp, and I meant to edit my original post. Oh well.
