Hey guys, thanks a lot for downloading this mod!

My plan is to make this a one stop shop for all your storage needs while keeping it immersive. I have quite a few updates planned but don't have the time to do it all in one update with my work etc. So all updates will be regular for the next few months while I work on it.

(If you would like a particular display adding to the mod just ask)

If you can think of anything which will improve Downreach please feel free to leave a comment (too many authors get offended by fair criticism in my opinion). I will implement recommendations in the next update if I think its a reasonable idea.

      Well met!
Wonderful idea! I am avid packrat as well! Was looking for a basic place to stash and/or display all my stuff that didn't take 2 hours to load, or drop my fps to 10! (or worse - CDT!) thank you! Have looked at several places, and seriously, some are way too much for my needs. I think I just wanted a basic structure/warehouse, easy to get to etc, which I think this is. However, I have encountered one problem so far. I got the letter from courier just fine, when I walked out of warmaiden's from last save, went on to the bannered mare to talk to the woman, Hulga, I guess her name is. Anyways, the deed and key were on the upstairs table, and there are no choices when talking to Hulga. the quest marker remains open even after I get the key and deed from the table. Have loaded game again twice, same results. I guess I am going on to find the place and see what happens. Will keep you posted! Again, thanks for taking the time and trouble to make this mod. I enjoy and am envious of those talented folks who can do all this! Amazing! It is very much appreciated! Ok, off to look!

Hey there, thanks for the kind words.

So the idea with the quest was to make it fairly quick while giving you some background. There is actually no need to go and talk to Hulda as she has put the deed and key out the way for you which as you have found out is on the table. I could have added dialogue to her but that is very difficult without suitable female voice acting so this seemed the better alternative.

Now picking up the deed should trigger the end of the quest, so I take it in your case it is not ending for you?

The key is upstairs. Just go pick it up along with the deed. There is no dialog with the barmaid.

Don't know if the mod author is still active, but this is a pretty neat mod. Great storage for a compulsive Skyrim collector like me. Minor neck seam issues, but since the few human NPCs are always in full armor, it's easily overlooked. One weird thing: Tolfdir strolled in to look around. I tried to get him to teach me Alteration, but he was having none of it. Here's the screencap link:

for some reason, the game ends up with a clone of Tolfdir wandering around Skyrim when this mod is installed. his clone is there no matter which of my characters i'm playing. i've seen both Tolfdirs together in the same place before. i was doing a quest inside the college and had a little trouble progressing it because both copies of him were there, and i was trying to interact with the wrong version of him. i think i've seen him the most in and around Whiterun. i've run into him inside Downreach iteself, and sometimes see him walking along random roads. he was even there with me fighting during the Civil War battle, haha.

Is there a Special Edition version? Also, I just thought of something, if it's a museum shouldn't there be people walking around observing the items on display? If you could add npcs that are called patrons or something and have them idle around the displays that would be awesome.

Is there a certain level that I have to be for this to work ? At level 20 read the note, went to Bannered Meir talked to Hu, or whatever her name is at the bar and did not get a Key or Deed. In fact never even got the dialog.

My first thoughts - OMG, exactly what I need, finally I found it .. my second - oh, NO, it requires DLC's. For sure, I'm not the only one who is playing Skyrim vanilla, for all of them I would ask kindly - Is it possible to add a previous i.e. an older vanilla version in the files list? Anyway, great mod for the "sick" collectors like myself.

This is a favorite mod and, believe it or not, this seems to work, unaltered, with the Skyrim Special Edition.  That includes the fast travel portals to the nine hold capitals.

    Great Mod!
I have one suggestion, and that is to add a hearthfire patch so that you can adopt children in this house.
Other than that, this is one of my favorite mods! Keep up the good work!

Does anyone know how to get rid of the Quest Entry? I picked up the deed and key but the quest is still there.

      I figured it out.

Using ShowQuestTargets in the console I was able to determine that the "A Home Beneath the Walls" quest ID is TQMQuestDownreach05

And with trial and error found out that the stage for quest completion is stage 30.

So if you are looking to complete the quest and get it out of your current quest journal type this in the console

      setstage TQMQuestDownreach05 30
