I actually really like this idea. As far as Irelith goes, having people with multiple reasons and/or allegiances does nothing but enrich the character. As far as most people know the grey quarter is simply a poor area and is barely mentioned outside of windhelm, besides expecting automatic kinship for no reason beyond race is naive. I take changes to irileth (irrespective of the author's reasons): She is a battle hardened, weary soldier, who has been fighting in way or another the growing altmer threat to the empire. Irelith is deeply loyal to Balgruuf due to a soldiers mutual respect and admiration. She would most likely offer her life in exchange for his or any of his kin. However she is first and foremost a soldier. There is nothing worse for a soldier than to be told they cannot fight the enemy especially with the huge losses the empire suffered and then have said enemy run rampant in the land you fought and your friends and family died to protect. So she is torn between the loyalty she has for her friend (and as some people have theorised, lover.), or fight the enemy she was never allowed to "defeat" properly who now undermines and attacks her "people" from within. Irileth may be far more frustrated with the lack of Balgruuf's actions in any direction, than his brother is so vocal about, but does not speak openly as his advisor and housecarl her duty first attitude would not permit it.

In the event that she must pick a side, it is within reason she would hurt her friend/lover/compatriot, in a way she thinks will help them far more down the long run. Not everything in the world is a soap opera with everyone laying out their thoughts and feelings in 5 episode staring contests and monologues.

With all that said, I never really cared for the character before and the lack of interaction especially between whiterun characters and balgruuf's neutrality just makes the game boring and far more shallow than literally any changes made. Beth missed an opportunity for Whiterun to be the center of a betrayal storyline involving the player and multiple ingame chars that you could have steered one way or another. IF you could somehow bend Balgruuf's loyalty or even have him declare himself as high king with the crown thing you have to find and the whole time you are either trying to balance the reactions and actions of his brother/irileth, the two rival families and their manpower etc maybe even becoming the head of his armies and controlling where and when to attack the empire or the stormcloaks as well as choosing to lead the attack/defence personally or send a captain to do it and win on a dice roll, with the other party either taking the opportunity to attack whiterun or each other, and have this tremendous back and forth with at least 2 if not 3 armies constantly moving and attacking... If only the game was this in depth....

Meanwhile I will enjoy mods like this.

Cool, I like this idea. Could you perhaps add some screenshots of the other housecarls? So, I can see their equipment as well?

I guess my only complaint is why is Irileth a stormcloak? Whiterun is clearly leaning pro Empire at the start of the game, especially considering the Jarls brother.

Doing Morthal housekeeper a vampire is also strange considering the main quest of this town :/

Also, Thaena and Korir are supposed to hate the College, so it makes no sense that she uses magic. Seems like a bit of an important detail to miss.

Gorm (Morthal) is a powerful deceiving shade and vampires are known for their illusion magic, he has been giving the town the illusion that he is a handsome hero.

Thaena doesn't refer to herself as a mage. She considers herself virtuous and hides her magic the best that she can.

Irileth helped kill a dragon and is secretly rooting for the Stormcloaks because she has a hatred for High Elves, she keeps Whiterun High Elf free even despite Whiterun being important strategically for the Imperials and the High Elves.

Man, I like what you're trying to do. but if you wanna keep it lore friendly, you need to do some reading

Also, you're missing pretty much the whole Ireleth character:

Ireleth states she fought alongside Balgruuf in the imperial army, and mentions that Balgruuf himself and the battle-bond they share is the only reason for her being housecarl of whiterun. If you choose the stormcloak side, you end up fighting Ireleth herself before Balgruuf finally surrenders, and she gets kicked out of the town with him.

Ireleth is a dark elf, and in windhelm you can see how Stormcloaks treat dunmers, being a nightblade she favors magic, sneak and one-handed weapons, which is pretty much the opposite of the way Nords and Stormcloaks fight, nords actually despise sneaking and magic. Not to mention there are only two nightblades in the game, removing one is halving the population.. >:

And i'm fairly sure being a one-handed warrior can potentially make her fairly useless in the Mirmulnir fight, Ireleth is such a good character to fight along because she matches anything the player could pick early on.

While many characters can be discussed and we can't be sure of which side they would fight for, Ireleth is clearly designed to be on the imperial side.

Keep in mind you can add to the lore with mods, but you can't subtract from it, or Vanilla characters will feel awkward to interact with.

Tracking, I can see this having potential with a bit of work here and there

Considering Ireleth and Whiterun to be Stormcloack territory is especially strange given the first civil war quest were Stormcloack army besiegeds the town. Balgruuf ALWAYS sides with the imperials in the end. Which makes him kicked out of Whiterun (if you're a Stormcloack) or he continues being Jarl (imperial sided character).

Another thing I disagree about is turning a contract for the Dark Brotherhood (Helvard) into a (for a low leveled characters) hard to kill bastard. I understand that you want to make them all strong, but someone apparently distrusted Helvard so much that they preformed the Black Ritual.
Thaena wearing Dunmer temple robes is also out of character. Both of them, Thaena and her husband Korir blame the Mage for the destruction of Wintethild. They aren't wrong though, sine Malyn Varen is most likely responsible.

Dear commenters, the factions aren't even a part of this mod.
I was just giving people new ideas on how use my mod.

I hated the weak raggedy Housecarls before. So I changed them to my taste.
