hey, idk if you knew this, but the eyes in picture 79/152 is the sonnerad. its a nazi symbol. like they invented it. i know the swastika was a normal non hateful symbol before nazi germany used it, but the sonnerad/sunwheel didnt exist before 1940s germany. its also known as the black sun theres a wikipedia article if you think im lying or something.

      What's wrong with that?
Censoring among other things is exactly what the bad guys from WW2 would do. Don't be like them. Symbols can have multiple meanings in context. Symbols belong to everyone. Don't give the groups trying to abuse the icons more power than they already have by associating them further.
I hate, absolutely hate these type of witch hunts.

Yeah, that's absolutely problematic. No reason for it to be in the mod.

So any pattern you don't like is "evil" and deserves to be removed?
Like the Christians and pentagrams etc in the 90's with the "satanic panic"?
      That's ridiculous.
It's a sunwheel, and much older than the ww2 badies. It's a nice symbol. Stop associating it with filth, please.

its just a symbol. you making a big deal about it is giving it power and meaning. did you know that theres another symbol exactly like the swastika called manji which is used in buddhism and has a totally different history and meaning behind it? did you also know that these symbols are just shapes? in this case, just pixels showing different colours to form a shape? censorship is wrong and pretty stupid. sure, the nazis were horrible but does that mean we have to erase anything that could ever have anything to do with them even if it doesnt? grow up and stop being so sensitive.

      C:\Users\PC_Name\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrim\mods\Eyes of Aber v1.3-59192-1-3\Eyes of Aber.bsa

If you want to access the files in the BSA you need BSA Browser.
I made an instructional post down below in this comment section which explains everything related to editing the files.

Just jump to the part that says:
      >"You can also Edit the appearance of the eyes and eyelashes using an Image Editor such as PhotoShop, GIMP, or PaintDotNet"

Since the first part is about custom races. HOWEVER YOU WILL WANT TO SAVE OVER THE ORIGINALS unlike the information in that post suggests since you are not overwriting custom races' eyes.
Make backups in separate files though, just to be safe. Worst case you have to reinstall the mod to get back the original images. No big deal.

*One side note is that .dds files are like .jpg in the way information can be lost or distorted due to compression.
With that said, I love my edits.
Happy modding, dumbrabbity. Cool pfp :)

So, who knows why the SSE conversion was hidden? Yes, we can convert this one ourselves, but I'd like to know if there's an issue with the now-hidden SSE mod that would make me not want to use it.

I'm new to mods and Skyrim,  I can use vortex to install it But do I have to make a new dark elve and start over or just make a new dark elve or just change the eye color from red?  I have about 100 hours in.

Press the `~ key on your keyboard to bring up the console.

      In the console type:
      showracemenu

After you do that you should be able to choose any eyes you like as well change other features of your character.
You can do this any time by the way.
Here's a link to the wiki too in case you want to learn more.

@ZMD87 It says it's been Hidden. Which is a shame because I really want to use these in SSE.

      Use this:
      Here
"Cathedral Assets Optimizer is an automation tool used to optimize BSAs, meshes, textures and animations. It helps quickly porting an Oldrim mod to Skyrim Special Edition, and can optimize assets for many Bethesda games."

I hope this helps. I love this eye mod too.

Found a fairly quick and easy method to integrate custom eyes with custom races.

First get BSA Browser then use it to Extract the BSA files from The Eyes of Aber (or any other similar mod), the eyes inside the BSA will be .dds files, then in your mod folder find the file containing your custom race and open it as you normally would (without BSA Browser), the path from there should be:textures/actors/character/[your_custom_race]/eyes, once you find your race's eyes choose an eye type you don't mind replacing and move them to your desktop, then select the custom eyes you want from The Eyes of Aber  or another eye mod, rename the modded eyes to the name of the original file you removed from your race's folder, then place the renamed file in your race's eye folder.

Deploy your mods and you should be done, but I highly recommend making backups for your files in case something goes wrong, for example
accidentally overwriting or deleting files. Also save the original eyes from your custom race in a New Folder for safe keeping in case you wish to revert back to them later.
    O
    nce in game...
Type: showracemenu in the console to enter the Race Menu and change your eyes.

I suggest you pick and choose your favorites since this method while effective is limiting depending on how many eye types your custom race offers + time.

You can also Edit the appearance of the eyes and eyelashes using an Image Editor such as PhotoShop, GIMP, or PaintDotNet, but doing so takes skill, time and patience in order to make the result look as aesthetically pleasing as Aberin did. To Edit the eyes, simply open the extracted .dds files in the Image Editor of your choosing, Edit them and save them as a separate .dds file with a different name when you are done so you do not overwrite the original, then you may install them as instructed above. This way you are able to create your own modifications for any eyes, meaning limitless customization. It's possible to incorporate any image you'd like into the eyes. Your personal use of these files is your own business, but...
If you edit files from a Mod Author: DO NOT UPLOAD THEM WITHOUT SAID AUTHOR"S PERMISSION.

BSA Browser is very easy to operate, after installation simply open the .exe then use it to navigate to your mods folder and find the file you are looking for, then unpack the BSA by selecting Extract All or select one file at a time if you please. Do not install BSA Browser as a Mod, it is a separate stand alone utility operated from outside the game.
